That is how long it's been since I first got my hands on this game. My grandfather(RIP) got my family an X-Box with Halo: Combat Evolved and Get Set Radio Future for Christmas in 2002. I played the ever-loving -blam!- out of both, but Halo: CE has endured the test of time. 8 years later, still playing the game, still enjoying the game. I predict many more to come!

Merry Christmas to you all, and to all a Merry Christmas: Evolved!

Good thoughts for your grandfather, Chicken. I just lost my grandmother. There's no describing the emptiness, you just keep going. Is great that you can tie the memory to something ongoing. My Haloing has been without family influence, except for my wife. Fortunately, she accepts it. I am truly blessed. Merry X-Mas to all Haloers.

Agreed! Halo has greatly evolved! I will never forget the times playing the originals!

Hundreds of hours of mayhem and true joy Halo has brought me.
It also ruined me for any other video game. Nothing compares to your first, true love.

Something smells fishy...

Halo: Combat Evolved is my most favorite game of all time.

Oh, and happy holidays and happy New Year.

I totally agree, this sadly describes how I feel. Halo is my first true love a have played Halo almost exclusively since Halo 1. Every other game to me is not as fun and are always being compared to Halo.

I agree utterly.
But in the meantime, Riddick, The Darkness, Dead Space. And to a lesser extent, Gears.

Riddick is simply greatness, period. The Darkness, however, deserves its own category. I've never had a more blammed up experience in a game. And by the end, I was literally on the verge of tears. You actually feel something when you play it, and that's a pretty rare thing.

Ha ha. Just like the Matrix, you have to see it for yourself. PM your address and I'll actually send a copy to you. Darkness was fairly available and inexpensive here in the States last time I looked. Am not joking. (Rapid lawyer talk describing price fluctuations etc.)
