In the 2010 edition of Halo: The Fall of Reach, in the Adjunct section, I was scrolling through and I found a rather "chill-to-the-bone" read of one particular segment.
Here is the Segment:

Word from the Third Fleet of Glorious Consequence
To the Holy City of High Charity, Vice Cleric of Zeal

Excellency-

Since we last spoke, much has changed. The human world we had targeted has been laid to waste. The last cycle of purification is in its final stage- may we all walk The Path!
Unfortunately, our return will be delayed due to a local magnetic irregularity, but an early report may help to stay any concern you might have about this protracted engagement. In particular, any concern about one Major Thel 'Vadamee and the actions which placed our fleet and his entire battalion at grave risk, extending this skirmish needlessly.
Thel's devout hatred for the humans is commendable, but it feeds an unchecked and dangerous level or recklessness. He is a vicious commander and a skilled warrior, but he is incapable of self-control- even at the peril of the troops who serve under him. All were concerns which I respectfully addressed at the last assignment tribunal.
During our siege, some of the vermin attempted to escape. We destroyed each and every vessel before they could even breach their world's gravity well, but one managed to find the system's edge. It was then that Thel left his battlegroup without notice in pursuit of this single ship with a small strike force.
You already know what befell out fleet and the cost we have paid. Early estimates are somewhere near three thousand- all on the shoulders of the reckless abandon.
While Thel managed to slay a human demon- something we were surprised to find here- he came to understand that its purpose was to protect a key military asset. We are not certain what this asset's significance is, only that it is, in fact, significant- it is a human, a female. So important, that the demon protector swiftly traded its life for the creature's safety. Such dedication is rather surprising.
They will follow and we will be ready for them. And then, we will continue as planned, rejoining the Fleets of Furious Retribution and Rigorous Prayer at our assigned rendezvous point.

In faith, your humble servant,
Supreme Commander Luro 'Taralumee, Resplendent Fervor

In summary, this article explains the treachery of Thel 'Vadamee (later known as The Arbiter) to the Convenant Fleet which, at the time, was completely eradicating any surviving human factions left on the planet of Reach.

Now, since Thel is given the rank of Major during this assault, it is most likely that his presence was seen not just in orbit but also on the groundside battles of Reach. There, it is highly possible that he led the Covenant armies throughout the Planet so that they may find any ancient Forerunner Artifacts or any vital information about the Humans which the Covenant does not know yet. Due to this, we already know that Spartans were assigned to protect these vital Artifacts or Information Centres. Noble Team is an example of both. Noble Team was assigned to protect ONI Sword Base (twice), and they were also assigned to hold out for Dr. Halsey at the Excavation Site (or Forerunner Artifact Site to be more precise).

Now, straight to my point, the highlighted section of the Adjunt Segment above clearly states everything. A Spartan died protecting a Human Female. It is highly possible that this could have been Jun because his final orders from Carter were:
"Escort Dr. Halsey to CASTLE Base"
CASTLE Base was, in fact, a Forerunner Artifact Excavation Site.
"Make sure nothing falls into enemy hands"
This final order clearly pinned him down to Reach. Due to that order, Jun has no choice but to hold his ground until the very end and take out as many of the Covenant as he can. And I believe that this is precisely what happened. He escorted Dr. Halsey to CASTLE Base (this is a proven FACT; read Halo: First Strike and you'll known that 100%) therefore Jun was stationed there. If you read First Strike 'till the end, you'll know that CASTLE Base was spared but no human defenders survived the attack.

Conclusion: Jun- A266, Spartan III class, assigned to protect Dr. Halsey and to defend Reach until his last breath, died by the notorious Major Thel 'Vadamee in CASTLE Base on Planet Reach.

For all of the skeptics that believe that Jun miraculously escaped Reach and was the last member of Noble Team, I say this: You're wrong. My evidence proves it.

Think that Jun DID survive? Feel free to comment.

Think that Jun DID NOT survive? Feel free to add any sufficient evidence that you might have found.

Think that my evidence is WRONG? Feel free to comment.

Will there be a Halo 4? YES. Stay tuned for my next article about the possibilities/evidence of the next Halo game.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Frank and company said he survived. So no. According to the Halo: Reach Legendary Edition developer commentary, Jun is still alive and active.

To further clarify via edit, that letter is about Shiela.

'Vadamee =/= 'Lodamee

Thel 'Vadamee was a Supreme Commander at the time of Reach, not a Major. He was one of a few who led the assualt upon Reach.

This is about the battle of Miridem that happened in 2549[?], Somewhere in the 40's anyway. It is the exact same tale that was shown in the Halo: Legends episode The Package. The Spartan that fell was Sheila, who died protecting Halsey. The Elite who slew her was Thel 'Lodamee, at the cost of his entire squad. Halsey was then captured at the system edge.

The very next adjunct in the re-release is the UNSC perspective of this event and it is confirmed to be Miridem, along side the strong similarities between what happens in Legends.

Cave Johnson here, we're done!

PS: If you are reading this comment while imagining my voice, don't panic. That's just a side effect of the testing.

And where may we see this legendary edition developer commentary?

Because I have the legendary edition, and I see no disc of any kind, nor any code that gives me access to anything.

Oh now I see! My research was a little bit off. I fixed 'Lodamee into 'Vadamee because I thought that was just a typing error. There are many in the Halo: The Fall of Reach novel so I wasn't exactly sure for that one. I thought that the Adjunct was mostly based around the events of the book, in this case the Fall of Reach so I thought for sure that it was Thel 'Vadamee. My mistake. I shall provide further research to my post. If Jun is said to be alive, that would be an interesting turn in the Halo universe but I truly see no way of him living after the orders given to him from Carter.

;)

Mistakes happen. I once wrote a whole OP about an minor inconsistency I thought I read in a weekly update about the Halo Graphic Novel. I was so stupid.

Yeah, the adjuncts are not always directly attached to the novel. I mean, there is one in the Flood that is from the point of view of The Librarian (A Forerunner), written 100'000 years ago.

You entered the code for the flaming helmet, right? then go to Halo Waypoint from the dashboard, go the the archive, and find the section for videos from Halo Reach. There you will find a link to watch the developer commentary.

Whens there's no one to turn to, just aim ahead

Thel Vadamee was the commander of the entire fleet that attacked Reach. He wasn't some major that fought on the surface.

Hmmmm...............I think he is alive and sits underground playing Uno with Dr.Hasley ;)
