Ok, I'm helping a neighbor. His computer was REALLY messed up and had xp home on it, and we just decided to do a fresh install, he didn't have anything he needed to backup, so I put in the windows cd, yada yada yada, formatted his HD, installed windows clean, everything went off WITHOUT a hitch. Then when we tried to boot, it gets to the screen w/ the green bar going accross over and over, and it just SITS after moving like half the way accross. The HD isn't accessing, none of the drives are being accessed, just nothing.
I can boot it into safe mode, but not safe mode w/ networking, or else it hangs on a file called agp440 i think. When i get into safe mode, everything seems to be in PERFECT working order. No hardware conflicts, nothing is wrong...EXCEPT he had a second hard drive in there he didn't tell me about, and some of the files from that slave HD showed up in the recycle bin on the fresh install of xp home i just did. Is it possible before I even booted it for the first time some files got over from that slave and screwed everything up?
I physically removed the slave drive from the computer, but nothing has changed, still can't boot normally, no error given, boot into safe mode fine, no errors to be found.
Please help, I really want to get his computer working!
