FTW

During the summer, I downloaded Halo CE off of the Xbox Live marketplace to my harddrive. Whenever I play the game, it gives me an error message saying, "The game could not start, please download the game again." I re-downloaded it about 3 times and it still doesn't work. After reading a little online I learned that it might be because my 120 GB harddrive, might be missing a few GB's that prevent it from playing Xbox originals because I bought it used off amazon. Realizing I might not be able to play it off my harddrive, I bought a xbox 360 flashdrive and downloaded it to that. Despite this, the game still won't play. Please help! By the way, My 360 is connected to Xbox live Gold, so it does have all the current backwards compatability updates.

Are you trying to play it on the same console you downloaded it on?

The same happened to me. It's because you bought a knock-off hard drive. The only solution is to get a new one.

Did you buy a new console recently? If not, you have a problem.

"I bought it used off amazon"

This happened to me too. Apparently people have been somehow making their own hard drives or taking out certain chips in them. Whichever the case, the piece that lets you play Original Xbox games is missing. You will need to buy another hard drive of the same or equal size and transfer your content over. When the transfer is done, it should work.

I recommend just buy a new one since that's the only secure way for you to know for sure your games will work.
