There has been a recent surge of zombie games, such as Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead and zombie add-ons like Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare and Call of Duty's zombie modes, but personally, they are very bland encounters with generic shuffling zombies and a thin backstory. I think Halo Reach would benefit from such a game mode; but Bungie doesn't have to waste time or money making concept art, character models or animations from scratch because they already have an established "undead" element within the Halo universe--The Flood. Of course, the Flood would need a little visual and gameplay polishing, maybe few new abilities and types, but they don't need a major overhaul. I mean, doesn't it make sense? The do as their namesake implies; they "flood" their enemies with superior numbers--perfect for the Firefight game mode. Flood can arrive in crashed ships or those nasty Flood Pods as seen in Halo 3. You might even take it up a notch; say a teammate is killed, they become a Flood Combat Form and then goes after their former Spartan allies assisted by the other AI controlled Forms. Sweet. I's pay 800 Microsoft Points for a Flood Firefight mode. With that said, I'd like to petition Bungie to craft a Flood Firefight mode. And why not? Reach is the last Bungie-developed Halo game. This is their definitive masterpiece. Might as well send it off with a bang.
