The Bungie website is horrible. I love the weekly updates and such but the navigation is just ugly. Especially the forums. I want to be able to go back to my threads. I cant seem to find any easy way to do that. Its horrible! grrrrr......

Personally, I think this website rocks. It's just not up to some people their outrageous standards.

I agree, bungie.net rocks!

I enjoy the look and interface. A lot of other forums have good features and stuff, but the look is terrible. Its all the same thing. The threads at b.net seem to stand out more and are more readable than other sites with 50 per page...

For only having 2/3 the page in use, id say its a very good display and such.

The color scheme just 'fits' all around and it has some neat Java Script on it.

It may not have a search feature at the MOMENT, but its coming, so are a bunch of other neat things some sites can only dream about.

Not to mention groups, how many other web forums let you have your own group? And if they do, how do they rank to b.nets? Probably not well....

I rate this place an 8 outa 10.

It gets a lot of points for usablity and layout, as well as style, but loses a bit due to the rather large file sizes that someone on a dialup connection would suffer.

Precisely my opinion. The Forums here are actually very good. So they don't have loads of excessive features; good! The Bungie.net Forums are here for communication, not for fancying up posts which are useless in the first place. Before here I'd never joined a Forum, and if I hadn't come here, I probably still wouldn't have. The excellence comes in the simplicity for me.

As for the rest of the site, I see nothing wrong with it. Colours are fine, navigation is easy.

This website is pretty damn good and would be hard to be improved upon.

I would have preferred something a little clsoer to phpbb in navigation, but this is as close as you can get with such a large scale forum, so i'm not going to complain.

The overlord and web/online team always welcome suggestions for improving this site, so if you think it's so bad, why not help out by giving them ideas which will enhance it's user-friendliness?

You never know, your ideas could help improve this site dramatically.

I'm certifiable.

Navigation on a forum this big is always going to be a problem. Achronos has stated that a "Search That Doesn't Suck" is under development... no word on a completion date, though. With five-and-a-half MILLION threads here, though, it's a tough feature to put in without it taking forever to grind through.

As to prohibiting images, flash, and all those other gadgets; they're prohibited for a good reason. Alas, in a forum this big, you're going to get enough idjits abusing them that us humble Ninjas couldn't hew them down fast enough to avoid serious trouble. Rather than bring that doom upon us all the Bungie lords has sealed that fane, er, blocked that access.

I wouldn't call it horrible. Sure, some flashy sigs would be a change, but it would be abused within minutes.

At least with Avatars, they need to be accepted first.

The one thing that I think of that makes this forum different from others is how narrow the forum is. Most forums will extend out to the width of your browser, but this stays the same. I kind of like it that way because it makes it easier to read. It's like reading a book except on a computer monitor, so it makes reading fast a lot easier.

Im not saying this for brownie points, but i think your way off. aside from hosting the best game to date, there are countlesss hours of information, activity and knowledge allat your disposal , free. and what better site offers you the right to vote to change, and submit ideas you want to see on THIER webpage? i have a huge affection for myspace.com, but do you think tom the head admin gives a rats butt about what i have to say?ther are more people logged onto that site than here (i think) and still you dont see the respect or freedom of this site. you actually get forced to watch advertisements now.bungie still hasnt sold out. i say be thankful for what you have, or learn to love what you have lost. (and it seems about 80% of the voters like halo 2, which is awesome fan support. the president doesnt have that many people behind him.

It's the same for the whole site. Nothing to do with how easy it is to read, it's like this because the entire website has a fixed pixel width. Some sites use automatic widths and such, but one as image-laden as Bungie.net cannot. The site will fill up an 800x640 monitor's browser, and there will be an enormous black gap for larger resolutions.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

This is one of a fiew forums that i go to so i dont know whats out there.

This forum doesnt have alot of the lil addons that others have like a post counter, custom avaters, rank system, and etc.

But i like how simple this place is and am actully afraid of future changes that alot of people are begging for.

This place is free so I'm not complaining. Although I would like to be able to use the large black area to the right, it doesn't bother me that much.

I knew it was designed for 800x640, I just thought it was pretty cool how that worked out for me. I'm sure it's not the same for others, and there are probably lots of people who would like it extended, but I like it somewhat narrow.

It's probably just because I've been doing it this way for a long time.

It did but people were using the post counters as a form of rank and were going "Hey j00 n00beh!! I've got 16 more posts than j00! I > j00!!!!111!!!eleven! So STfU u n00beh!!!" So Achronos took them away. A rank system would just do the same, and custom avatars would be abused within 117 seconds.

Have you tried saving the links in MS Word, Notepad or something along those lines?

I think B.net is great. Very easy to navigate, and very user friendly. Its just missing a few little options to make things easier, but it is stil possible to get along with out these options. I give it a 9.

I love this site. The layout of Bungie.net compared to other forums is uncomparable, B.net is vastly superior. The whole site just looks like it's been done by a professional which it has. Many other forums aren't pleasing to the eye at all.
