Usually hoisted by my own petard!

I was looking for a place to comment on how both Halo and H2 looked and played in HD (albeit on a PC using the new Microsoft VGA adapter cable) so I'll add to what you have said. Visually stunning is what I have to say about Halo! After calibrating my monitor to the "correct" brightness and contrast settings, I am amazed at how the Bungie guys intended all the lighting and shading to look. There are some truly dark places and times of day that are not represented properly on the old system. The flashlight on the guns and headlights on the Hog are so dams cool looking on the 360...granted you don't crank up the brightness! The literal flames that lick out the end of the warthog gunner while shooting in the dark are awesom. The muzzle flash from the assault rifle and the glow of all things plasma including the distress flares are spot on perfect. Seriously, start Halo from the beginning using an HDTV or PC monitor and you will be finishing levels again just to see how good the next one looks.

The only issue I have seen graphically is with Halo2 in the Outskirts level. There is an odd shaped artifact that is rendered when you look anywhere near the skyline or directly at the sky. This shape is rather large and appears (at least on my 360) at 480p and 720p and at both widescreen and normal settings.

The most glaring problem to date with 360 tech difficulties is the whole online voice feature. The quality is just plain cruddy with every possible trouble shooting tactic used to try to fix it.

Ok guys. Finally had my friend over last night and got a chance to really put the 360 through its paces. We were playing multiplayer on Live and ran into a few problems.

#1. The output from live communications was mixed through the speakers and the communicator. I have small children so as you can imagine this is not a good thing!! :-)
We verified multiple times that all options/settings were set to the communicator only and it continued to happen off and on.

#2. The sound would TOTALLY cut out every now and then for up to 3 or 4 seconds. This happened multiple times to us so it wasnt just a fluke once. (Let it be said that i have not had one seconds trouble from sound out of the 360 on any 360 specific game and all of my audio equipment has never given me any trouble so I do belive this is a 360 + Halo 2 thing Or possibly a 360 + emulation thing, but I have not played anything else so I cant confirm that.

#3. The game movement was slightly off. I would venture to say that overall it would be something that we (myself and my friend that play together) could ultimately overcome but I just wanted to throw that out there to see if any one else noticed.

WHAT IS RIGHT!!!
Compliments on the graphics upgrade. It is extremely noticeable!!!. We have a projector that we play on so our maximum screen size in 4:3 mode is 100". The granularity that you see from the original xbox is all but gone on the 360. We tried all three modes 720p, 1080i, and 480p and all were noticeably improved over the original XBOX, however in the end we gave up the graphics upgrade for playability and reverted back to the original XBOX.

Anyone else had these problems, or am I the only person with issues like this??
BUNGIE, any word if something may be done to address these issues if I am not the only one having issues??
