I guess the bungie princess weekly update incident is really what motivated this post. I was just wondering what the people at bungie feel about the disrespect they get from alot of (in most cases)immature people, or just complaints in general. I mean to some extent it should be expected, but does it ever get to you guys? I'm sure you put alot of time and effort into your work, as you guys said some 100+ hours a week, and by openly posting your work you put it out there for people to readily critisize. Does it ever get to you? It bugs me just to think about it. EVERYONE who has enough knowledge about this company to have found this site, must love the work you do enough to buy your games, and enjoy them, but its seems like there are 3 negative posts for every 1 positive post you get. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just curious to know what you guys think about it.

Tango.

I can tell you, with my infinite wisdom, that the Bungie staff were feeling moist and angry last week.

I personally think "just cuz" they should not do a Weekly Update 1 week. Or just make it one line that says "A lot Happened." And maybe "CENSORED" for about three straight pages.

But I guess that's the arrogant, stubborn, cruel part of me talking who enjoys sticking it to people when he can. And Bungie's just too nice to do that. Even if some people continously gnaw the hand that feeds them.

O:-)

[And I loved Alta's update. And this week's picture of the SUV was genius. People just don't realize how we begged last time (ala Matt Soell) for weekly pictures to come with updates (albiet, screenshots)].

The "Bungie Princess" update was fun, a nice change and a good laugh. If the morons can't handle not having Frankie hold there hand for a week than they should get there daipers changed. It was disgraceful how some people reacted, and the fact they made time to do an update weekly is something very special from a games company, and something they don't have to do at all.

You have the right idea, some of the Members at this site have worked up and ego upon false pretenses and they need to be knocked down a peg or two, set them straight. It's the people who are always flaming and burning other peoples threads just because they could think of anything else better to talk about so they riun someone else's thead.

"Jerks they are, aren't they precious?"
"yes they are's, cruel, fat peoples'z'z"

I was very disapointed with the way people behaved with last weeks update. I was shamed as a bungie fan and as a member of this mostly great community. Sadly there is little respect for others these days.

I think that the flamers were missing the fact that, as frankie said, it was An update I'd like to point out that we provide, voluntarily, free of charge and with frightening regularity.

Personally I enjoyed the change with other staff members posting the update. It had a different style, and a different point of view. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy frankies weekly efforts immensely, but with alta posting one, we get insight into bungie through a different set of eyes.

Smee, you're on to a good idea there I think. Looking at the company from different peoples' perspectives does give you a broader look, and maybe show parts that we would miss by only focusing on the Halo 2 parts. I found Alta's update was interesting; any army marches on its stomach and seeing how the people in the building ramp up to the crunch gives an idea of what being there is like. Heck, when lobsterok posted a link to one of Matt Soell's soapbox articles here I learned an entirely new facet of what Bungie is like.

Does anybody think that "guest" updates every month or so would be a good idea? It'd give Frankie a break, and give us new insights. I can't see a downside, but I am a tad sleepy...

-- Steve'd look forward to constructive feedback on this. Or thrown fruit... he could use some healthier food in his diet.

And tonights guest star on the Frankie weekly update show is ....

That sounds like a good idea, it could be like a talk show about what going on around Bungie studios by Frankie and his wacky sidekicks! I mean *cough*cough* ... co-workers. heh.

It's good because it's gives us a break from Frankies somtimes too too positive shenanigans (but we still love it), and gives us Bungie from I different perspetive. Maybe even have to "big cheese" do an guest appearence on Frankies show. lol.

I like it, definitely Bungie wacky material.

Nicely put Rip Saw, and totally correct (as always). The last few months have all gone crazy around here...dunno if its the fact that its the summer holidays and all the little annoying whatsits are running around rampant with no one to keep them on a leash, or if someones been giving them all too much sugar again. Whatever it is the forums have really lost the shape of its community of late.

And there are times when someone loosing there temper around here wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing...oops deleted a few ppls logins :P ohhh what a shame that would be :P
And if you'r one of those little annoying kiddies which got us all pissed off....remember, PLEASE go play with matches and a can of gas, you'll be doing the world a favour!

bah

Boooooo!!! You can edit single words you know. Oh well, there was only the one sentance worth saving anyways, it went something like this, with one of the words replaced by the word "bunnies":Now, the forums are full of immature bunnies who run around rampantly vomiting crap out of their mouths.Really now, does the N word hurt anyone in that sentance? Besides the ignorant -blam!-?

You're trying too hard, Rip. Why don't you accept the rules as they stand?

Now-now. That's not nice. We should be encouraging artistic expression... just in the correct venue instead of here.

I suggest the annoying kiddies spray-paint their posts on the wall of the nearest "motorcycle enthusiast" clubhouse. I'm certain that the "enthusiasts" would properly appreciate the efforts shown.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

I have to admit that I was one of the jerks that posted before thinking on the update. I tried to fix it, but that doesn't change the fact that I was a jerk in the first place. Sorry!

P.S. Who thinks bunnies will become a new saying around here? And I agree Rip Saw, he should have just edited out the "bunnies" word.

EUREKA! I have found some similar, mature, and sane people on these boards! THANK GOD.

On topic...I appreciated the different POV on the Halo 2 project that the Bungie Princess gave us. It was very funny and I enjoyed the change, despite the fact 2/3's of the fans who read the updates were sorely pissed and -blam!-ed, moaned, and whined like 5 year olds in Kmart who don't get the toy they want.

*Stretches arms*

Let's face it, the New Mombasa Forum is, at the very least, riddled with complete idiots. The majority of these flamers, and spammers, post without regard for coherency, or anyone else who uses these forums.

I say Bungie just shouldn’t post the update on the front news page, or New Mombasa, and just put the update on The Underground, Septagon, Maw, Library, or even The Flood. Even a completely different forum for that matter, but just don't announce it, to New Mombasa, for three days.

Those who care, will find the Weekly Update, and enjoy it without seeing it spammed and flamed before we get there.

I think we can all remember what happened to Alta's update, and not to mention the one at Penny Arcade…

Sorry if I’m on a bit of a rant.

What suprises me is that they don't add that much not be said to the blam list. Or create a new one. Using bunnies instead of that much not be said.

Yeah, I agree with everyone. Alta's update gave a new facinating look into the metabolisms of the Bungie staffers.
