There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.

My question remains, what is going to happen to people who think that a "good karma" point does nothing. I remember that when I first started playing HALO2, if I had a good match with someone or they played under some serious negative factors, ie. their team quitting out on them, I would tell them in the post game lobby that I was going to leave them some positive feedback in the menu. I came on b.net and asked what exactly does positive feedback do, and I was told be quite a few people that it does nothing, that it is something nice to believe in, but doesn't matter a bit. This made me quite a bit sad because I thought that on some minuscule level, I was rewarding the people that really made Halo2 a good game to play. I know that there are ways to abuse the system, but I would really hope that in Halo2 or in Halo3 is made that there is some way of people getting "goodies" for being good sports. Same thing with Bungie.net, I see so many people on here that have nothing good to say about Halo2, the moderators, or the community. But I also see that just as many people on here are actually taking the time to try to make this a friendly, sometimes enlightening community and forum. It's these types of people that Microsoft and Bungie should be looking to keep in their good graces, because it is them that are fighting the good fight to try to keep Halo2 and this forum from running straight into the ground by the people that would try to ruin things. I know that it is the little things that make it so people keep themselves involved, I'm not saying that Bungie and Microsoft should be giving away 360's or HDTV's, but something like a coffee mug that says, "I play nice on Bungie.net" would be great. I mean how much do coffee mugs cost? I know that there are a lot of people that play Halo2 and subsequently come to these forums that can do a lot of good, look at the FIGHT THE FLOOD campaign, but it seems to me that people are getting disheartened by the amount of negative things that are coming across these forums. I just wish that there was some way for the loyal few, the defenders of the faith in the Bungie community to see that there is something in it for them, and that flamers never win. That's my long winded 2 cents. Sincerely, ~B.B.

Well, Beserker, that's what we're all hoping for. Essentially, a way for the good people on Bungie.net to get something in return for their contributions to the community. That's the primary goal.

And about the XBL positive feedback. Recod talked some on this. Basically, people think it means nothing, because they haven't seen any physical proof of it.

I'm just worried that I've been a "good member" too long and by the time the Karma system comes out, I will be in an insane asylum or something. I mean seriously, one can only handle being good for so long. And I'm a raging teenager for crying out loud!

And this is exactly why The Flood, and off-topic chapters are made. Everyone has a little nonsense in them, and it's best to get it out before it builds up and results in a spam attack or something of the sort.

See, this is why I wish that Bungie/Microsoft would let some people know that being a good sport on Halo2 and subsequently on Bungie.net has it's advantages. I personally want a coffee mug. Microsoft spends millions on marketing each year, I mean look at all the 360's they gave away instead of selling them to people. I just wish they could take some of that money, and instead of trying to reach new clientele, they would use some of it to keep the Bungie faithful well...still faithful. Of course, I'm not in marketing, and that makes far too much sense, so I'm sure it won't be considered too much. But here's to hoping. ~B.B.
