Crazy idea,Nobody will listen, gonna give it a shot.

Halo 2 on the marketplace would be a crazy idea.

Yes,Yes i know that the rights to halo is owned by Microsoft A.K.A 343 Industries. But whats to lose?

And i do believe Microsoft has enough money to do anything they want, They could spare some money for a halo 2 Server . It would be a massive profit.

Halo 2 was the main reason people brought Xbox Live!

Let Halo 2 Live again! lol.

Frank O'Connor said he doesn't think the Halo series needs to be taken in a radical new direction... it just needs to go "deeper"

"Ultimately the core game mechanic and strength of the universe doesn't need to be changed, it just needs to be taken deeper. We want to make Halo games - we don't want to make Call of Duty or Ridge Racer. We want to make Halo games because we understand what's special about Halo."

I'd buy it.

Yeah, Hitboxing = fail. For example, a certan user from the maw who has never played Halo 2 Xbox online links to this halo 2 bash video (its much less exreme in acutial gameplay) which shows hitboxing, but it also exists in halo 3, which also has unbalanced weps and n00b armor (recon).

I don't see why they can't simply release some source code or something to allow people to make their own servers. Or release something for us to download similar to XBC. I know I'd go for it.

Halo 2 for Life!

They might be thinking that it will take away from its new games. Although it does the exact opposite!

If they provided a good service for halo2 that would most likely increase loyalty and increase their sales I would guess.

Providing no service is the polar opposite and is what they are currently doing for Halo 2. There are draw backs and benefits for both ways but the morally sound way would have been to provide good service for their loyal Halo 2 community that was strong and present!

They are playing the ignore game right now for its older titles and the attention game for its newer titles. They seem to be operating in the shadows and not being upfront and completely honest of their motives for doing things which is dis-appointing to their fans like me.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Not off the PC place, cuz i already have a disc copy.

If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

I definantly would. Even when Halo 2 had a population of 500 to 2000 online at once in a day, I still played it more than Halo 3 and would play it more than Reach.

I have two, but I'd still buy it if it was online again.

RIP Halo 2

It'd really piss me off if MS made everyone buy it off of the marketplace to play it on live, rather than being able to just use the game disc if you already own it.

That's impossible.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Oh, lookie, this thread again! Is it that time of day again already?

In all seriousness, yes I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Without re-writing parts of the game, yes.

Halo 2 for Life!

They have weak reasons when it comes to why they dropped Halo 2 off their service, show little if any helpfulness with map pack issues (we bought them we should still have access), and their action of dropping all support for its old games and the best game ever is just a few reasons why Microsoft disappoints me greatly. The reason that Microsoft is still in the gaming market is because of Halo 2 and they showed the greatest disrespect to its fans and to themselves.

Bungie has also done the same; bad mouthing Halo 2 in the past to promote new games and gave little fight to keep its best game active on XBL. They also showed dis-respect to its fans and to their game and themselves.

It's just a bunch of crappy jokes that Bungie and Microsoft let things get to this point between its fans and themselves. If only they knew why everyone is leavening their brands for better titles (if they didn't know it's because of loyalty, or the lack of it).

I'm not a PS fan or COD fan or gears fan I'm a Halo 2 fan and it's hard to say that Microsoft and Bungie failed their fans and by extension themselves but that is what has happened no matter how you slice that piece of bread.

Halo 2 for Life!

I agree but at this point, haveing Halo 2 back on live, even at a price, would be worth it. What that price is, I'm unsure but it would be good if it was 0 dollars lol.
