Okay. To start this brand-spanking new rant of mine, I should first point out my evidence. Check it out HERE. As you can see... I can score quite a lot of kills/points in relation to the other players. Sometimes more than DOUBLE the #2 player. I know this is not perfect, due to photoshopping and whatever, and you can say I'm a hacker and that is PROOF that I am... but whatever, there it is.
The truth is that I don't hack. I'm a sniper that was trained in original Unreal Tournament on a 400mhz iMac and a 56k modem. Yet nearly EVERY GAME at ~GrampaDan's~ server, (which has three total mods all at BG, normal, all heavys, and all snipers/no shields.) I get called a hacker for getting the score I do. This in itself doesn't phase me, but when some PUNK with a 10-56 score keeps complaining, telling me to leave, saying they're going to "report the server to gamespy," and when he finally kills me ONCE, starts going off on some superiority-ish freak fest, I get pissed, and come here to let ya'll know about it. (I even scored on blue, the noob's team, switched to red, and actually ended up on the losing team, which allowed the noob to yell, "hey, you lost! you suck!" When it was still ME that scored the winning point for his own team...)
I *could* run FRAPS to show the world that this is a human controller, but wait! FRAPS takes up too much goddamn memory and my framerate gets cut in half! Then I don't get a good score, and my proof goes the OTHER way.
Furthermore, remember that I'm not coming here -blam!-ing about a single incident, or even a dozen, but EVERY GAME I PLAY.
So now to the hacking truth, spoken yet again, and which will be ignored by so many that need to listen. THERE IS NO HACKING! You can do some things to textures and whatnot, but you CANNOT "hack" the server and give yourself an unfair advantage. It's called "server-side netcode," and it makes the game, in effect, unhackable. I kill so many people and dodge so many shots becuase I DON'T MISS and I know how to MOVE CORRECTLY. It is also this server-side netcode which makes it so that one person cannot bog down the server becuase they're on dial-up. I've never once been a server where the lag was bad, the worst pinger left, and the lag improved. Yet another extravagant display of ignorance.
Also, spouting that garbage, including calling me a "noob" only further deepens your own ignorance and noobishness, as it is your own lack of knowledge that is causing you to spout this crap at me. Who's the noob now?
Rest assured, I WILL continue to go to GrampaDan's. I WILL continue to beat the hell out of every player in there. And I WILL continue to piss off some poor, ignorant sap that doesn't the difference between server-side netcode and client-side netcode...
Or the difference between servers and clients for that matter...
So remember kids, there is a difference between knowing how to aim and using hacks to just sit back and watch the kill count rise. I don't hack, and never will. I DO miss, and quite often. (I actually remember seeing a hacker in UT instagib... Jumped in the air, fired no less than SIX shots, six kills, all in totally different directions... Looked like a starfish with red lines in place of... legs? What do starfish have? Whatever, it was impossible, trust me.)
