Love it. So far I can't put it down great book. I didn't think Halo would actually have a compelling writer I was happily mistaken.

What of the other books in the series are worth a read ?

You lie! You need to put the book down to type.

Some how I knew someone would point that out ha.

But what of the series is a good read besides Fall Of Reach ? I heard some of the books aren't so great.

Signatures are for squares.

Books that continue Fall of Reach's storyline, and have the same writer:

Fall of Reach
First Strike
Ghosts of Oynx

The Flood can be skipped, though there are some good bits in it.
Contact Harvest was decent, it follows Johnson and shows humanities first contact with the Covenant. It is written by Joe Staten, the man behind Halo 3, and ODST's story.
Cole Protocol follows The Arbiter before he becomes the arbiter, has some more of Captain Keyes' back story, and follows a Spartan team known as "Gray Team." This one can be skipped.

Just make sure you read First Strike before Ghosts of Oynx. The rest of the books can be read in any order.

Also, I suggest you pick up Evolutions as well. Amazing read, and includes short stories by the best Halo writers.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

If you like Fall of Reach you will also love First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx. Ignore The Flood, it's not too great. Not sure about the other books.

are first strike and onyx really linked? i don't really remember a connection. maybe in the beginning of onyx there is. other than that, onyx pretty much has its own storyline as far as i remember. someone please tell me if i'm wrong.

ah, so true.
I'd say they are linked because First Strike includes information on some of the Spartans from Ghosts of Onyx. If one were to skip straight from The Fall of Reach to Ghosts of Onyx, they might be confused on how it was possible for the Spartans to be there. Plus First Strike provides a great bit of information between Reach and Earth.

ah. true. i read all the books a while ago so they all just blur together into one. I don't exactly remember where one ends and another picks up.
