Subject: Is there a difference?

I am a firm believer that when bungie makes you spawn with a pistol, kill someone with a rocket launcher.

What are differences between:

the carbine and br in halo 2?
the regular marine and the odst in halo2?
the city of mombossa in halo 2 and halo3 odst?

any proof or reasoning behind your answers will be greatly appreciated.

If you only know the answer to one of the questions ill still accept one answer.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Carbine: 1 shot weapon. BR is 3 shot.

How about a gameplay difference?

You know who I am.

The Carbine was a 1 burst weapon that took 7 shots (in the head) to kill a fully shielded spartan, were as the BR is a 3 burst weapon that took 4 shots to kill a fully shielded spartan.

The marine and the ODST in Halo 2 were the same thing essencially, just with different skins.

New Mombassa in Halo 2 wasn't blow to -blam!- while you were running around in it, where as In ODST it was.
Seriously though, Halo 2's New Mombassa was more focussed around the edge of the city by the waterways, where as ODST focused on the innards of the city. It's hard to make a fair comparison.

Thanks. Im guessing that for the br vs carbine thing you meant 7 individual pulls of the trigger to kill a spartan and 4 individual pulls of the trigger (12 bullets, 4 bursts, 4 pulls of trigger, infinite badassery) for the battle rifle.

The carbine is a single shot gun, the BR is 3 round burst.

As for the regular marines and ODST's, I don't know if there are any noticeable differences or not aside from how they look. The only thing I noticed between them was that it seemed like the ODST's usually had better weapons like shotguns, rockets, etc. I have no way to confirm this though.

As for the city of Mombossa, it would be kinda hard to say since you see a lot more of the city in ODST than you do in Halo 2. I guess you could go back and play both games to see if there are any parts that match up. For the most part I would say that ODST is different, not because the city itself was different, but because you played in a different part of the city.
