Apparently, bullets don't take the time to see if the person they're hitting is an enemy before they hurt them. I imagine grenades, rockets and plasma bursts have similar issues.

Halo Reach - Make a prequel to the fight.
Halo CE - Begin the fight.
Halo 2 - Continue the fight.
Halo 3 - Finish the fight.
Halo 4 - Start a new fight.
