We know it can't just go back to Halo2 style.

Sure they can.

Why not? The game would be infinitely better without them.

If they did just go back to normal like Halo2 then people would complain even more and say Halo went way backwards.

ever play halo 2? if you did you wouldn't say that. Sure little kids would hate it, but overall it would be better.

Good. It will separate the terrible players from the good ones. The removal of casuals can only benefit the series.

"tbagging has been in halo since the getgo, don't like it? Go make a thread about it!"

Weapon Attachments. yeah, i know, CoD and MoH already have them. hey, they copied our customization, why not copy theirs?

Imagine a night-vision sniper, or a Battle Rifle/ Dmr with no scope? Assult Rifle with grenade launcher <think reach's without emp>. Magnum with a suppresson? Maybe it would work that any weapon you start in your loadouts with. Maybe the weapons in the level are random.

OR

Working armor differences.
I.E. heavy armor takes more damage, but slows you down, and vise versa for light armor. Maybe purchasable AA's that could be upgraded? Except you buy the AA's like other armor. And yes, jump jet shoulders would actually make the jump jet more effective. lol.

OR

Make the next have another "custom edition" mode for it.

OR

Sorta like my first idea, you can buy weapons for loadout. Obviously not rockets or energy sword, or sniper, but maybe PP, dmr, 'sult rifle, magnum. etc.

OR

EVERY SINGLE WEAPON EVAR MADE

OR

Interactive levels (more so than before)
I.e. Deathtraps. Weapon "vending machines". Lowering/raising bridges. Elevators. Think of the forge possiblities.

OR

Quicktime duels for energy swords. (GOW chainsaw duels, Resident Evil.)

The next Halo is going to have only one Armor Ability and it's going to be called NEGOTIATE.

You press LB to start talking to whatever the new aliens are. You discuss common interests, the weather, long work hours, etc. If you get a high enough Negotiate score you gain an ally to send back to your ship.

You win when you get 100 allies.

It so happens that I love Armor Abilities, and I am not a casual to the series.

Crazy concept, I know.

Even crazier concept; I also like Halo 1 and 2. It is possible to enjoy every Halo, and enjoy the changes that each version brings, rather than -blam!-ing and moaning over Bungie supposedly catering to "casuals".

If you like Halo 2, go play Halo 2. I don't want Halo 1.2.4, I want new games, with new gameplay.

Please don't hype for games...
They'll just fall short of your expectations and you'll complain for months.

My only complaint with halo 2 is the terrible graphics. I suppose they were pretty good for a game when it was released, though.

Halo 2 had rather amazing graphics for its time

I'd be fine if they kept AAs, but had limits on how many times a picked up AA could be used.

Say for example that sprint and evade get 7 uses, camo, hologram, and jetpack get 3, and Armor Lock is a one-off.

There would be a power meter next to your AA icon which would go down with use in bigger fractions depending on which one you had.

UWG

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

I like to think about Halsey's plans for MJOLNIR Mk.VII; specifically, limited shaping of energy shields creating partial overlaps and aerofoils.

I spy extra-jump and decreased falling damage power-ups.

Scrap equipment and AA's, don't bother replacing.

Nothing of value would be lost.

I vote for neither, and a back-to-basics approach to raw skill with a focus on team-shooting, powerups that you EARN, and map control. HALO 2 was way more fun and I think most legacy players would agree.

  • 01.03.2011 7:46 AM PDT

I find nothing wrong with the movement AAs, as in sprint, evade, and jetpack. there is nothing unbalanced about them and can be used skillfully in the right hands. Plus unlike the non-movement AAs (amor lock, active camo, etc.) they speed up gameplay instead of slowing it down. So I say keep just the movement AAs.
