A thought just came to me. Perhaps those that own the rights to the Halo franchise should update and re-release the games as a box set with xbox live for Halo 2. It wouldn't be so much for people that already have copies of the games, but more for those that missed out on the first couple. With this box set you get all the updates, DLC, and xbox live matchmaking for all the games except Halo CE. I could see a lot of people buying up the old games, and new ones if they got everything made for the games and could play them on live. I was thinking it would be something like this. Copies of Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo ODST, and Halo Reach. You get all the updates, maps, bonus stuff, and matchmaking for every game except Halo CE. I could see a price of around $300 USD being a good amount, considering all you would get.

The main reason I suggest this is because then we would get live back for Halo 2, an added bonus would be that we would also get a matchmaking system for ODST.

Awesome idea! Rumors are they're remaking Halo CE. Maybe they'll do Halo 2 as well.

Bump it down to $200 and I'd buy it.

Wait, aren't there already 5000 threads like this.

Anyway, there's already a updated version of halo 2 with all the DLC. It's called Halo 2 PC. You should know about it by now since your avatar is from h2pc.

And $300 is too much. More like $50 would be ok, since thier older games, and sega packs their genesis games and sells them dirt cheap every day.

Microsoft needs to be like Valve+Steam, who support all their products. :D

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

$300 is a little too much, bump it down to $50-120. Then more people will have the incentive to buy it. They should at least add a matchmaking or some form of online for Halo CE if it does get re-released. They should also add like online co-op campaign for Halo CE and Halo 2, and add the stuff that was unfinished in both games.

Halo 2 for Life!

100 dollars with a 5-10 dollar monthly charge to play the halo's on XBL on top of the XBL charges would distribute the cost over time (sorta like WOW or something, although I think WOW is 15 dollars a month) .
Anyway to get Halo 2 online on XBL again I'm in favour.

If they were to update halo 2, ideally I would want to see Co-Op for Campaign, BTB 10 on 10, sword lunges and modding allowed in customs, superbouncing allowed, button combo attacks allowed, new map packs, new campaign levels, eliminate standbyeing, and remove double shots and triple shots, have the following playlists, BTB (ranked and unranked), Team Slayers (ranked), Team Training (unranked), Team Snipers (ranked), Team Swat (unranked).

This is a list off the top of my head and isn't everything I would want in an ideal world, if we can't get any of these but we can get Halo 2 online I would still be happy with that although I would be happier if a few of the things above were included.

I think you say 300 but you do relieve that is the price of a system right? If you release this bundle for the next generation of system from Microsoft than you probably would be able to distribute the price more evenly and make a special halo edition of the new system for 700 instead of 500 for a regular system or something and halo fans would buy it.

You probably have many options and variations to look at, it's probably best to poll your audience more extensively. I do agree we most likely need to include other forms of halo fans like ODST and others to get a pack that could sell and get the halo's back online. This is avery complicated issue and it wont be easy to resolve so we will have to be patient.

If it was only as easy as putting Halo 2 back online but brining other halo fans in might be the only way to get halo 2 back online, and if that is the case I'm all for your suggestion Dr. Weird thx for suggesting it.

For that price, all maps would have to be free and you would need to get free crap. Or else, it would end up like PSO, where there are no updates, subscribers leaving, then shutdown.

And while your at it, ask for it to be on PC with better graphics....oh wait, it won't happen. Oh, and button combos won't be in it if it did happen. Santa isn't real either.

MS isn't going to release it for $500. This is why.

That price seems like it would be a tad too low for six brand new games with all the stuff ever made for them, especially since Reach is still selling for sixty bucks new right now. $300 seems fair, it averages out to $50 per game, then you have to also factor in all the extra's made for each game that you would also get.

Halo 2 for Life!

Would you sell it on the market place? Or as a box set?

Selling though the market place could lower the price (no need for manufacturing) by 50 or so dollars (as a box set would be pretty big).

Although that would be alot to download...

299.99 for a complete Halo collection with all downloads manuals and etc plus add on's, updates, and upgrades. It might work. More polling and thought might be needed though, it may be perfect as it is now but be patient with your idea.

I would think that it would almost have to be a box set. Not only would it be a lot to download, it would also be a lot to store on a hard drive. This wouldn't/shouldn't be too much of an issue if you have a new 360 with the big hard drive, but could be a problem if you have one with a 20 or 60 gig one.

I also think it would make a neat collector's thing with some sort of fancy box, or awesome display set up for the cases.

Another thought just came to me, perhaps they could include some sort of collectable action figure in the box set?

It's not fair, it's also expensisve. The metriod wii games were $50 for 3. You might think it is, but if it's 300, and combine that with bad matchmaking, then you have one dead game.

It's not one dead game, though. The Metroid games were all on a former platform, weren't they? (Not a big fan. I have no clue.) If you look at the price tags

Halo CE: $9.99
Halo 2: $19.99
Halo 3: $29.99
Halo Wars: $29.99
Halo 3: ODST: $29.99
Halo: Reach: $59.99

All that equals out to: $179.94 without tax. Then you have to include all of the DLCs for the games. Halo 2 having Matchmaking again might rise the price up to help pay for that. Then, you'd have some extras. I'd say Dr Weird's price is about right. The only cheaper it would get is $250.

Yep, if it was that expensive, it would be empty for online. Oh, and reviewers would bash the price.

You would need to be a fanboy or have a store closing to buy it.

Wow. Superbouncing should only be allowed in customs, NEVER in matchmaking. Honestly I wouldn't mind if it was removed entirely, but to say they should remove double shots? Sure, some people could cheat with modded controllers, but it was one of the most exciting things in the game when pulled off, and most people did actually do it legitimately.

On-topic, I'm not sure exactly what you're going for here. People were mad when they had to "buy Halo 3 again" with ODST, but you want to sell me every game that I already have just for a new version of Halo 2? I'm a fairly avid Halo fan; but Reach, Halo Wars, ODST, and H3 can go rot in a corner somewhere. No way I'm paying $200 towards four games that were terrible. Also, why should I buy Halo 1 again? I've gathered many disc copies over the years, and I've even purchased it off of marketplace. All I want from the bundle is Halo 2. If it's an issue of needing to pay more to support the game, I would still pay up to around $150 for Halo 2 on the 360, but I refuse to throw more than twenty dollars at any of those other POS games. Halo 1 is not a POS, but I really wouldn't want to pay for it again.

This would be for fanboys of the game. I'm also imagining that this pack would be a limited edition sort of deal. Not something that is as mass produced as a new game. I'm also thinking that they would reinstate the Halo 2 Matchmaking for anyone who has Halo 2, not just a specialized version on that pack. If they had to change something on the disk all you would have to do is go to a store and trade out your old disk for a new disk then pay a special fee? I don't know. That's just in case there would be something like that for it to be put back on Matchmaking. (Like, making it to where it was completely 360 compatible so that it would use the LIVE 2.0)

Maybe if it was just the trilogy remade into a boxset, I would by it.

It's not enough just to reship games with the content they already have/had. Both Halo:CE and Halo 2 needs to be xbox live enable, included online coop im both games, and online multiplayer and of course achievments. The graphics don't need to be altered much, just enhanche them like what happened to Perfect Dark on XBLA, nothing more.
That i would buy.
