Most likely not.
Our current understanding of physics does not suggest the existence of anything like slipspace, for example. And in all likelihood, any real alien intelligence would be vastly superior to us, probably like the Precursers. Also, the Covenant could not exist, since most linguists agree that it is more or less impossible for alien intelligences to communicate with one another (this includes human-alien communication) simply because they have evolved completely independent of one another and have completely different genetics and brain structure. So they wouldn't be able to have a collective of alien races so intimately bound together as in Halo. I think in 500 years we will just be starting the true colonization of the solar system, with actual interstellar travel occurring about 1000-1500 years from now in relativistic ships.
