My favorite group.

Halo CE has a lot of nostalgia for me, but PC has more content, so I guess PC.

The campaign isn't any different though? The only difference is that with CE you can download custom single player like Lumoria

Anyways, Halo PC. Definitely. In my opinion, all Gearbox Software did to Halo was add stuff that made it better. They did as good of a job as I think they possibly could have done. A lot of people hate them for the Net Code (Making it better for 56k players, which, makes it to where you have to lead your shots) but I love it. Having to lead your shots just adds more skill to the game. If you can land headshots with a Sniper Rifle in a game that makes you lead your shots that far, then, you're a pretty good player.

As much as I enjoy the benefits of Halo Custom Edition (i.e. AI team changing with dev console, flying camera, permanent active camouflage, etc.), I just don't like CE because of how much work it demands.

To make such impressive maps, you have to first dedicate a lot of time to learning how to use complicated programs, learn how to script, etc.

Whereas with HMT and Eschaton, you can make simple, yet enjoyable mods in a short time.

Also, some CE maps tend to deviate from Halo introducing new things that makes it lose it's flavor, it's originality and/or removing what was best loved about Halo: Combat Evolved (taking the Pistol's scope away, replacing it with the BR or DMR, etc.).

But I do enjoy maps that focus on AI intelligence rather than weapon skins, scenery, etc.

A guideline I use when looking for single player maps to download is:

-intelligent AI > custom skins, bipeds, etc.

-The AI have to be defeatable. I should still be able to kill them even though I'm armed with a nearly useless Assault Rifle

-AI do never before seen things (i.e. kamikaze Banshees) but remain in the boundaries of what is Halo

So basically, I prefer Halo PC, but I can tolerate Halo CE and sometimes prefer Halo CE.

I keep forgetting to re-install CE. I'm gonna do that now. Do you have any recommendations for single player maps?

I haven't played Halo CE for a long time, but like I said, avoid maps that have uber AI (unless you can handle them). Balanced AI intelligence is the key. Don't look at appearances.

Well, it appears I'm gonna have a sharp learning curve ahead. It's been a while since I had to get new maps. A few years I think....

OK. No way to check AI aside from downloading the maps. I figure I'll start with a few rated 8.0+ that have a description.

Is that the actual level, or something new?

It's the original level, but edited majorly for major awesomeness.
