Subject: I wonder...

Play fair & have fun

I wonder, if later down the road (whether its by 343, or another game company that MS hires), with the next Halo game, if the Chief and the Arbiter were to meet again somehow, would they still have their alliance with one another?

Or will it be a more... violent encounter in which they decide to end what could of happened between them before if circumstances were different? (aka. no meeting with Gravemind)

IMO, I feel that they may settle things, but not in the "fight to the death" way, more like a duel of honor. I can see the Arbiter pulling out a second sword and tossing it in front of the chief for him to use (cue epic scene showing what Elites and Spartans can do in battle when not confined in game space).

What are your thoughts?

Allies are not the exact same thing as Friends.

Things would get very ugly if Chief found out about Thel's hand in Reach.

Exactly, They were forced to work together by circumstance.

Remember chief's reaction at the beginning of Halo 3? Thats why I bring this up, will they still be "nice-nice" with each other.

but like I said, their "fight" doesn't have to be to the death, it could be just to see who would have won if they went at it in the very beginning.

If their meeting would take this route that is.

The cheif and the arbiter came to respect and admire each other so much they became as good of freinds as the cheif and Johnson by the end of Halo 3.

Also Thel had realised humans were better than the prophets thought years earlier. (cole protocol)

Not really. I doubt that the Spartan would ever call an alien a friend, let alone a good friend, given the circumstances.

Thel has killed millions of people during his time as Supreme Commander. He will never be forgivin if the truth comes out. If MC were to ever find out about Thel's hand in the destruction of Reach, the Arbiter's name would be put on his kill list, damn the politics.

The fact is, everything is not sunshine and rainbows.

the humans arnt stupid they already know he killed a ton of people. but him and cheif became freinds despite that i think they fought each other multiple times so they know who the other is beforehand

You are forgetting that MC faught in the Human Covenant War for its entire duration. It would be extremely out of character for him to accept Arby's friendship.

Really? I didn't know that Master Chief killed billions of innocent Sangheili Civilians, utterly destroy hundreds of Sangheili Colonies, and was the one who was doing this just because his religion told him to.

This was an un-called for Holocaust.

Well, the Arbiter did, by choice, follow Master Chief into the flood infected High Charity. What do you say about that.

What about the ending. It seems like they kinda like each other. Kinda like they were acquaintances.

"Find The Bomb?!
Find The Bomb?!
I'm Looking For The Flag!
What The Heck Is Assualt!?"

These two aren't little kids.

They have been comrades in arms and Thel is highly intelligent (The chief is highly intelligent in a strategic way, but I won't say more than that) I doubt that bringing up their pasts would cause them to go at each other's throats.

Besides Thel probably feels true remorse over much of what he did to the humans under the prophets. Fighting would be like as an adult going over to beat up the bully who used to pick on you in Middle school then joined the army with you and apologized to you during said experience and is now living in a different state.

There is no reason for this.

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

I doubt that they would fight. They seemed ti respect each other.

the reason that i haven't ranked up anymore in H3 is simple.
if im general and lose a single game, i will get about 20 messages asking me how much i paid for the 50 on ebay.
if im brigadier, i would get messages saying, cant get a 50, noob?

"Question. Which Spartan is best?"
"That's a ridiculous question."
"False. Master Chief."
"Well, that's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought."
"Spartans shoot Sangheili. Spartans. Sangheili.....Battle Star Galactica."

But the Chief did blow up the Ring, where all the of Grunt Babies and Elite children were! They were just minding their own business in that weird daycare center you had to fight through.

  • 01.07.2011 5:33 AM PDT

Well we'll probably see the Arbiter in the future, but not with the chief. Has far as I know, Halo 4 starts out with the chief floating around an unexplored area of space, and he meets "new creatures".

I think that they've grown to respect each-other, which pretty much scratches a fight to the death off the list. I'm not saying that a fight for honor is out of question, though.
