"I also think Bear left open the possibilty that Guilty Spark's pronouncment that MC was Forerunner is not as Rampancy based as previously believed."

What if a sect of Forerunner, be it survivors or those excluding themselves from the war, undergo a mutation....but use humans as their mentors?

They already look somewhat like us, in basic shape. This would make them look very much like us. What if these human-mentored Forerunner then live amoung us, on Earth. It would sort of explain the genetic memory of the Spartan, who in this theory would be the descendants of these lines.

I dunno, just saw his post and it made me wonder....what if? Thoughts? Too far fetched? Given Cryptum, I'd say nothing is truly out of consideration.

Cryptum *almost* ruined Halo for me. Thankfully I don't have to acknowledge it as canon

Ruined? Explain.

You don't have to, no. Fortunately, the rest of the community and 343 and Microsoft do. So while this information trickles down into other works, what are you going to do? Selectively edit more and more out?

Valiant men have died here so we don't have to, so let's get the hell out.

That's a pretty good theory forthnback. I think that there was too much focus on how the humans were like the Forerunner for Bear to not touch on this somehow.

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

That would certainly explain why the Spartans are genetically better than Humans. Well, SPARTAN-IIs, anyway.

It seems like Assassin's Creed, where the Assassins are hinted to have been from a lineage of demigods, allowing them Eagle Vision; Knowledge, the one sense that 'Humans lack'.

Am I right, or am I just rambling insanely?

I'm just thinking, there has to be some reason why the Spartans just seem to "know" how to turn on Wraiths and pilot Banshees, and how they "know" to touch certain Forerunner symbols.

Normal humans certainly don't, as Covenant tech has stumped humans for ages.

I think, from what I remember in the books, Spartans more guess their ways through Covenant tech. I don't think they actually know how to fly a Banshee, or use a Wraith. I think it's more of a "How about this button?" thing.

I recall Fred looking at the controls, and hitting a button and turning it on. And he was suprised....and as he looked, puzzled. Because he knew one symbol was moved to accelerate, and a different set to turn and fire the gun.

And was it Will? who knew to take his gauntlet off to touch a Forerunner trigger for a doorway in Castle base?

I think it all comes back to the "instinct" front.

I thought it was pretty good.

One day... I am gonna grow wings... A chemical reaction... Hysterical and useless... hystecial and let down and hanging around... crushed like a bug in the ground.

I have a weird feeling that the Forerunner trilogy is setting the stage for Halo 4...

You're an ignorant fool. If you won't acknowledge Crpytum as canon because it revolutionized Halo's all but concluded story, you have no place in this forum with the rest of us. How are the other novels canon but Cryptum is not?

Wake up and smell the coffee, sir--Halo is changing.
