Hey guys this is in response to my old topic on my problem with hosting servers. I did just now get together with a friend and see if he could log into one of my serves. He told me that when he tried to log in, but the screen said, "Attempting to connect, retrying, retrying, unable to connect."

I am on DSL and have a router and what he told me is that my router is not allowing others to get a connection to my servers but it allows me to get a connection to there’s. So I am asking anyone out there if they have any idea on how to make my router allow other people to connect with my servers.

Thank you for your time.

You have to get the manual for your DSL router and look up how to do Port Forwarding. Then you have to forward ports 2302 and 2303 to the IP address of the machine hosting Halo. Then your friend should be able to join. BTW, DSL will let you host 3-4 other players before the lag get real bad.

Another thing you might want to try is, have your friend connect using your direct ip address. This doesnt exactly solve your problem of joining form the lobby, but it will give you and your buddy a chance to play.

Good luck.
