Subject: Custom Edition Assistance

Been a long time since I've visited this place. Already checked the first two pages here for similar issues, and Google and Halomaps haven't been helping much.

Basically, I have two issues. Also, running Windows 7.

1. I downloaded some single player maps. Unzipped, .map files are in the map folder. Replaced the UI with one compatible with single player(Orange UI). Game doesn't do anything once I click a difficulty for campaign in the menu, just stays at the difficulty menu; however, the levels do show up among the multiplayer maps.

2. Having trouble enabling the console. Keeps telling me the target is invalid. Make sure file and path name are correct yada yada yada. I did this on XP a few years ago, but don't remember how for the life of me.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

P.S. Any recommendations for single player or multiplayer maps?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

1.
in console:
map_name "mapname.map"

2.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\haloce.exe" -console

May be "Program Files (x86)" if you're on 64-bit

(PS) Lumoria might interest you.

Something smells fishy...

Here are the Halomaps.org articles that explain how to play single player maps and how to enable the console:

1.
in console:
map_name "mapname.map"
I understand this. Can't get console to work.

2.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\haloce.exe" -console

May be "Program Files (x86)" if you're on 64-bit

My apologies, I wasn't clear on the problem using the console. Here is the issue. Playing around with the file in the main folder doesn't do anything. Those Halomaps articles are what I've been going off of.

Also, thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to try it out once I get this working.

I know this might sound silly but did you put a space between the target line and the -console extension?

Also is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\haloce.exe" the correct location of where your Halo: Custom Edition files are are?

I guess you could also try to completely uninstall Halo: Custom Edition. You could use the freeware version of Revo Uninstaller to perform an advanced uninstall of Halo: Custom Edition. Then restart your computer and reinstall Halo: Custom Edition.

Revo Uninstaller: http://www.revouninstaller.com

Make sure that when you reinstall Halo: Custom Edition that you install it to the default directory.

Remove extra quote at the end of target line.

Ah, it had an extra or missing space. Appreciate the help.
