Does everyone recall in the book "The Flood" when 343 Guilty Spark told the Chief he should change his battledress as it is very weak, claiming is was a Rank 2 and that should equip a Rank 12. Now, just by hearing the massive difference, I can tell that the forerunner armor must have been almost invincible if it can outclass Mark V by such a huge margin.

Now to the bottom line, what if 343 had taken him to a station and he got the Forerunner armor? What would have changed?

Inside another dead body. It's the last place they'll look
A corpse within a corpse.
CORPSEPTION.
Win.

I feel that Chief would not have been able to die in the game. Not to mention he would have been more unstoppable than he was in the next 2 games, since ONI would have likely told him to keep using it for its insane power.

True but I think ONI would have stripped it down and reverse engineered it.

I did think this, but I like to think they would let Chief keep it - I'm thinking the 'impossible ops' line of ONI thought, knowing how capable he is in this suit and how much damage he can do to the Covenant in it.
Sweet Coup BTW, I was playing MGS2 and 3 when my Xbox went away for repair :P

I guess so. Let him use it until after the war, not realising he would never return.

I have to agree with you, they would want to mass produce it or something along those lines, possibly for Linda, Kelly...etc...

Lol...what would have happened? The Halo series would have gone by a lot faster, canonically speaking.

I assume it would be like playing on the Easy difficulty.

With 300% damage resistance.

No 300% speed, he's fast enough.

i dont think guilty spark has the abilty to messure mc's armor properly in the new book it explains the forerunner armor it has air in it for a few hours food water and a way to put them in cyro suspention or somthing like that it also has a smart or dumb ai in it but not a contender class ai so the master cheif may have gotten better sheilds but nothing would have lost his strength speed and reflex boost his armor gies him so it proably would be the same result or he may have died becuase in the books he dosnt really let his sheilds drop that much so extra sheilds really wouldnt help

He would have gotten sentinel shields! Do you realize how hard those are to break through? Read Ghosts of Onyx. The armor alone would be impossible to break, as it is over 6 times greater than that of a Mark V.

  • 01.10.2011 11:28 PM PDT

immpossable to break maybe but would it have made him stronger like his current armor thnk of it this way if its defence is 6 and the mk 5 is offensivly 4 and defencly 3 that makes it a seven better then the forerunner armor becuase it benafits offence and defence not just one or the other

  • 01.10.2011 11:44 PM PDT

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

They couldn't incorporate that into the game because you would be way too powerful and it would be way too easy. They'd need to shoot you with a MAC blast to kill you.

  • 01.14.2011 3:23 PM PDT

Just thinking, maybe a MArk 12 suit would have beeen too advanced for the MC to understand? If you were aducted by an alien and received some random power suit, would you know how to work it or even if it would work for you?

OP: Yah, MC would become supreme ruler of all Covenant and and the Halo Incident within a few hours. (the whole thing only took a couple of months out of a 25 year war)

Master chief wouldn't have needed a weapon in Halo 2.

HOMANITY (and every sentien live in the galaxy) WOULD HAVE DIED during the battle of instalation 04. Remember that Cortana came up with a plan that consisted in using the MArk V armor shield to distrupt some generators and gain some time in order to overload the Pilar of Autum Slipspace reactor? Well the math is simple: The forerunner would have not relayed on <obsolete> energy shielding (level 2) therefor Cortanas plan would have not been a viable option. No shield overload, no way to gain some time and the monitor would have found a way to fire the halo array... thus KABOOM!
