Here this is the right forum and they would know better than anyone about what your asking about.

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Yeah, go ahead.
It doesn't have any matchmaking and it isn't supported by Microsoft or Bungie.
That's how good Microsoft supports their AAA title.

If you still have the Xbox version, you can play online using Xbox Connect for PC.

Yes, and you should also get the H2V Dev Trainer if you're going to play Campaign.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Halo 2 PC is a lot of fun. It doesn't compare to playing on Xbox Live, but it's better than nothing.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Only good thing about Halo 2 vista is that most of the maps are already on the disc, and that you don't need a gold membership to play online.

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

Free to play Online is definitely better than using a tunneling program. :D

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Tunneling programs are full of mexicans. F2P online isn't.

True... COMPLETELY true. I play both and I'd much prefer Halo 2 Vista

Vista has:
All the previous maps (Except Tombstone/Desolation (I don't know why exactly)

It's in HD

Server Lists (I think it's better than Matchmaking. I like to pick which map/gametype I want to play)

A map making program

Live 2.0 (The 360's Live setup)

Many more players
