Well, most moderators tend to follow this kind of a rule. Just not officially.

That should only be enforced unless the offender commits the same offense. Otherwise they didn't learn anything and won't learn anything so they ought to be banned.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

hmmm

3 strikes

id be out then

but 2 of my bans where from Shishka and we know how he gets.

I agree completely.

It isn't as though the mods are crouched in hiding, waiting to permanently ban someone who makes a Halo 2 post in The Library. However, there are certain circumstances where people blatantly ignore the most basic or serious of rules, in which case, the mods are forced to temp-ban or perma-ban the offender for the good of the community. It isn't as though a permanent ban is handed down lightly or without good reason. And a temporary ban is just that, temporary. In a sense, one could argue that a temporary ban IS a three strike method.

Bungie.net enforces a one strike philosophy. See, you get a strike on you, you're out. You hit a foul ball? You're out too.

It would make for some lame baseball, but it sure does work well around here, if you ask me.

yoo•zel- ('yoo-zhul): slang: vb.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

The Moderators operate how we do, most of the time if we find a name coming up more than a couple of times, they will end up being permanently banned. But you do have to remember that you can be permanently banned on the spot for a number of things; such as linking to -blam!- or discussion on how to modify your Xbox or games… those are just a few examples. There is always a reason as to why someone has been Blacklisted, but as for now… we’ll continue on how we always do.

Oh, come on, you have to have blacklisted somebody just for fun.

I dea thief...

Pfft, you stole my idea (and that was about a month before me becoming a moderator).

While I do like the "3 strikes, you're out" policy, I think Recon's idea is much better since it has more substance to it.

I guess great minds think alike... or fools seldom differ. But whatever. It all depends on how you look at it.

P.S. how did you get the link to recon's post to go like halfway down the page?
