KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!

Oh yeah chicken, it's piece of crap not peace of crap

Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out. Usually I try to be more conscious of my typing, but I can probably blame it on my new ergonomic- they take some getting used to.

You were only a staff captain? How the -blam!- could you have been a staff captain? Halo 3 came out in 2007!!

I actually got it for myself later. Before that I played Halo 2 at my cousin's way back when Halo 2 actually had Live that people played. I didn't get my own Xbox until a few years after that.
Plus all that aside, and never really gave a damn about rank- it's really just a bunch of pixels that say you can press buttons better than the next guy (although if you get a high rank legitly, I'll certainly salute you for it, but in the long run, I'm a customs guy)

I haven't played the Community Playlist yet, but I'll take your word on it. Too gray and all the maps look the same, I'm assuming? I've also heard that you need a jetpack for a lot of the maps.

If you still play Reach on somewhat regular basis, I actually recommend playing it. Why? After 5 games, I promise you- you will have put Reach away for good. It's like that one class in Elite Slayer they used to have (the one with Armor Lock, Needler, and 2 Plasmas): basically the noob crap all rolled into one package. You've got your armor lockers everywhere, of course bloom haunts you everywhere you go, grenades are being thrown like rocks at a stoning, and on top of it all, Bungie seems to have developed either a stupidity problem, and taste for maps that suck monkey balls, or both.

Alright, I will heed your warning, but I will probably still play it sometime. I'm sure you're right, though.

Halo Reach is a good game (in another words, not a piece of crap), you just have to adjust to different play style. I play default controls in Reach because my AA is my go-to button. Going back to H3, I felt like I was on the moon when I jump, so BJ controls just feels right. Switching back and forth between both game controls is not a problem.

H3 has a very competitive feel to it, and it keeps me sucked into the game. It makes me want to get my skill back. I forget to lead my shots because in Reach, that's not as important anymore. I hadn't thought about how that adds a layer of skill before.

In Halo Reach, map control is a must. Shotguns are stronger and so are rockets. You also can't just hide behind, say a dumpster like in H3 to recover your shield. Grenades have a large radius of damage. Taking stuff like this in account, you can understand why maps are larger overall in Reach. But I like how the DMR can actually take out a player at a far distance, as compared to the BR spraying everywhere. It's taking the playing field, and doubling it twice the size.

I say they're both great games.

KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!

You make it sound so innocent. Yet there's so much that's wrong. Like bloom- you say it increases skill, but really all it does is turn skill into luck. I once shot a guy five feet from his head with a sniper and still got a headshot, but another time I knew I had gotten a real headshot square on and it completely missed. Skill with "precision" weapons is destroyed. Also armor lock ruins a bunch of things like stickies, sword/shotgun/hammer because you get up close to someone and they armor lock you while meanwhile their 2 teammates have come to finish you off with overpowered grenades. Same thing with vehicles- in H3, you knew if you were going to blow up by doing something (say charging headfirst into a chopper, or boosting your ghost straight into a Warthog, the later of which I just took a screenshot of). In Reach you could be ghost-boosting into someone who looks like they're distracted in a firefight, and randomly blow up. Why? Oh right, they can turn invincible any time they want.

Point being, there's way too much wrong that it just overshadows the good stuff. Like the enhanced forging capabilities? RUINED by the fact that maps get overwritten randomly and your work is lost.

But this is the Halo 3 forum and we should be praising that, not trashing on Reach.
