Game Programmer......... For The Win!

Alright so I'm in highschool and will be going to college in a couple years. I have been programming since about 6th grade and I would say I'm pretty good and know a vast amount of programming languages. I have been learning the programming language for xbox lately.

Anyways I think I want to go to college for Computer Engineering because I think finding a job in programming would be hard. I'm wondering if I have some great examples of programming games but no degree in programming, would there be any chance I could work for Bungie? Thanks for any input.

Also I'm 4.0 student programming c++ on the robotics team.

define "the language for xbox" if you mean C# using the XNA framework, that will not help you at all with bungie. While, Yes the Xbox360 does have the ability to run managed code. 99% of professional development is done with C++ and a customized version of Direct3D9, it has a few features of Direct3D10 but it is still d3d9 at the core. the biggest change is the removal of the fixed function pipeline. Requiring all rendering to be done with a shader.

I am a game developer also, add me on messenger ( funkbrotha10@hotmail.com ) if you have any questions.

Thanks for the input. Yes I am learning xna with c# right now but I am more dominant with c++. Any way to learn how to do what they do?

while XNA is actually built directly ontop of DirectX9 I would learn how to use Direct3D9 with native C++ code. that is 500% closer to "What They Do" than XNA with C#.

Not that C# isnt a good language. they use it ALOT for this website and their servers, but if you want to actually be part of the driving force behind one of their games, then the C++ , D3D9 combo is the way to go for now.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Interesting. I want to be a game developer and I'm in High School also. The only problem is I have no experience and I don't know what classes to take. :/

Can you help me out?
