why would any game developer waste to money to make a sequel to the two worst games in the halo franchise?
If u ask me and about a few other million people, there should be a remake of halo 2 with better graphics but no changes to the game engine or gameplay.

Honestly, Halo 2's graphics aren't that bad. So, coming out with it again with just better graphics wouldn't be a smart idea. It probably wouldn't look much different from before, anyway.

I would like Halo Wars 2. It would be cool if there's space battles between the UNSC and Covenant. I want to command a Super Carrier!

We believe that the universe is unbounded: this is not the same as infinite: the 2-D surface of a sphere, wrapped around a 3rd dimension, has a finite size, but has no end. If you start off in a given direction on the surface of a sphere, you could return to your start point without having to turn around -- you simply go all the way around. But wouldn't that mean the universe has an escape velocity like the earth?

I really did like both though I'd rather see a sequel to Halo Wars than ODST.

There is definitely potential to vastly improve Halo Wars if there is to be a sequel.

That's what I was thinking. There is much, much potential for Halo Wars. There is for ODST, also, but not as much.

Like DonVinzone1 said before, they could even incorporate the Kinect with Halo Wars for a mind-blowing experience.

Hahahaha! I can see this happening in my living room.

"Spartans! Hijack those Wraiths! Marine Squad fall back! Scorpions ready cannons! ODSTs, deploy feet first into hell! Marines fall back! I said, fall back! *Hear screams* Oh God, I'm sorry Marines, you were good soldiers. Now, ready MAC blast! Fire on my mark...mark! Kill those bastards!"
*Look behind me to see family staring in OMGWTFBBQ faces*

Hello, friend. I'd love to command a Super Carrier, as well. The power of it may even be overwhelming. If you could command it on the Kinect, it would be even more epic.

An epic space battle where you're the CO of super carrier? Not only that but expanding on the Halo universe while introducing innovative gameplay!? Aren't we asking a little too much from Msoft who probably won't care about those things and just want another Halo game on the shelves no matter the quality or canon?

How can you have better graphics but with no change to the game engine? That's a contradiction in terms.

And both Halo Wars and ODST were fantastic, I would love sequels. Halo Wars 2 should be a direct sequel (i.e. following on the from the events of the first game) and could incorporate Kinect, while ODST 2 could be Halo's equivalent of Portal; the first game is very small, but the second is over double the size.

It should feature the same squad (without the Rookie) and follow them throughout the war, or switch between different perspectives (i.e. Buck, Dutch etc.) and then bring them together at the end.

Yeah, we probably are. :/

Dammit we need somebody better to replace M$. They don't care about fans.

Sadly, you got that part right :(
For now it seems Sony is focusing all on the Hardcore-players with 20 exclusive games for 2011, and MS focusing on casuals with maybe 1-2 exclusives and a few mappacks (not free ones mind you) for 2011.
Since Bungie is going multi-platform, Mass effect is, we only got Halo and Gears for action, and Forza and Lips for "others" if we count living IPs. To bad, but maybe Sony makes a good console next gen and it will be worth buying, getting Free games, DLC, online gaming and exclusives, and Bungies next game :)
Let MS have Kinect, CoD and casual gamers if they want to :P

OnT:
Yes, ODST 2 with maybe some gruop combat in larger environments would be nice, and Halo Wars 2 with splitscreen co-op would be great :)

Please don't hype for games...
They'll just fall short of your expectations and you'll complain for months.

Because they are only bad in your opinion. Honestly, I think ODST's music is the best in the series.

I would like to see what happens to the ODST squadron and the UNSC Spirit of Fire and it's crew. I would really like to see a Halo Wars 2 because I really enjoyed the game and it was a nice piece of work.

  • 01.15.2011 6:25 PM PDT

I would like Halo: Blue Team.

Halo Wars 2: No. That game just wasn't something that could keep my attention.
Halo ODST 2: Yes. That game was great, and I would love to see more insight on the ODST's and even marines.

My exact response, The ODST campaign was a great experience. You are vulnerable, any enemy encounter can end you, and you must co-operate with fellow marines/ODSTs to make a push. I would love another Halo game with this down to Earth atmosphere. Reach has an excellent campaign, but I'd rather ODST's over any other Halo (except CE, it's campaign is brilliant, true against all odds story with soo much mystery, and horrors)

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

I'd like both.

But for an ODST 2, another battle, like Jericho VII, which I'm positive the ODST's fought there.

isn't that where the Rookie's entire battalion was wiped out?

Maybe it'd be a lot darker then.

A darker ODST game would be perfect. The happy ending in ODST was okay, but the darker the better, imo.

This. I would like to see a set of new characters fighting on Jericho VII, although featuring the Rookie (more or less), who would actually talk a bit. The game could show why the Rookie doesn't talk much after the Battle of Jericho VII (Post Traumitc Stress Disorder maybe? Something like that). It would be cool if they implemented a basic squad command game mechanic, like utilising the d-pad to direct different members, as seen in Mass Effect.

I agree. I'd love to see the ODST's point of view. Even though I love the Spartans, I'd like to see the ODST's b*tch about them because they're jealous. They also pull a lot of weight and are interesting.
I think it'd be cool if on one of the missions a spartan comes, and helps out your squad, but only if it fits with canon.

I have more ideas! The game could be in some sense "episodic", each "episode" contained at least several missions. The first episode would be what I mentioned above. (The game would be a campaign only game).

The second episode would put you in the shoes of the Rookie, who is starting to talk a bit more. It would take place during the events of Halo 3, telling the continued story of the squad from the original ODST game. It would tell what else was happening during the timeline, from the perception of the ordinary soldier, and not Master Chief. It would be hard to make the second episode as dark as the first one though. Maybe one of the main characters dies or something, just to mix things up a little.

And Episode 3...After Halo 3? Would there be anything fight? Maybe the Covenant Remnant? This episode would conclude in such a way that would create anticipation for Halo 4. Maybe a UNSC ship receives the distress beacon signal from Forward Unto Dawn?

So are my ideas good or rubbish?

Dark Neptune, a young amateur astronomer whose gaming life is no different from other teenagers of his age, though he controls it more strictly then others.

Whatever.

NO KINECT PLEASE.

Reach was nerfed to pleased the more-Casual audience. I don't want to see another Halo game end down on that very same path.

Erm...no offence.
But Kinect to make a RTS game even better playable on a console is a big win for me...Hell, if I could play a Halo Wars 2 with Kinect and it would work, I wouldn't even think about using my controller for it...

As for the idea above about ODST 2: Awesome!.
Not sure about the whole episodic thing tho.
If they would do that, it would be better to make some sort of game-version of Halo Evolutions. Each episode being about 1-2 hours long, focussing on 1 story/point of view and covering a whole range of conflicts in the Halo universe.

Also: I wouldn't make it as an sequel, but a prequel. That would indeed be better as it could show us why Rookie ends up silent, which would make his character so much more interesting.
But one focussing on Buck and his previous team while defending New Alexandria would be great too.

"It's unbelievable how much we don't know about the game that we have been playing our whole lives."
-Mickey Mantle

OP response; Yes and yes...assuming of course they could maintain the game quality of their predecessors. And while I don't think either of these sequels would be suited for the Kinect (though to be honest, Halo Wars Kinect-voice-command style is not a bad idea at all a la Tom Clancy's Endwar, but better) I think there could be space for a Kinect Halo title of some sort (though it MUST be a more serious kind of game for us hardcores/semi-hardcores that enjoy innovation), which the Kinect is surely going to start putting on shelves soon enough.

“I didn't want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And that's really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare you're so relieved. I woke up into a nightmare.”

Make ODST take place during Halo 3 and you are a ODST helping Chief during sevreal of his missions, not all of them and the last level will be Cortana and you are the dead ODST with the flame thrower.

SPACE BATTLESSSS
and a continuity of the vehicles, I mean why would you use a Cobra in Halo Wars when it doesnt appear in any other halo games
Continuity should take priority and if u add vehicles u should not discontinue them immediately
