He's still alive by the time Halo:Reach ends. What happens after that is still up for grabs. Ultimately he's not with Halsey at Castle Base, but it doesn't confirm if it's due to dying or merely splitting ways for whatever reason. Either way from action or old age Jun is the last Noble member to die in the end.

Edit: Also if someone posts something along the lines of "In the book the Elite that becomes the Arbiter in Halo 2-3 kills Jun" don't listen to that person for that person does not know how to comprehend what he/she is reading.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

There's always at least three people that post in "Is Jun alive?" threads saying the new Fall of Reach book says the Arbiter kills him and honestly believe it to be true. Those people irk me to know end whenever they keep trying to spread misinformation.

Old School

for intents and purposes assume he's alive. his mission is to get halsey somewhere safe and then presumably join the evacuation.

Oh, okay. I did not get the new version of TFoR, so I wouldint know... So then who does the Arbiter kill in the new version?

Just curiosity.

The Arbiter kills no one because the Arbiter isn't in the new version. It's a Red Elite who just happens to share the same first name as the Halo 2/3 Arbiter, Thel. The short story added into the reissued version of The Fall of Reach sets up the events portrayed in the Halo Legends short, "The Package". Not to be confused by the Halo:Reach level of the same name.

The short story is presented as an after action report from both the UNSC and Covenant perspective of the battle of Miridem. In it both reports come to the conclusion that Thel kills Halsey's Spartan bodyguard as she tried to flee from Miridem. The bodyguard is unnamed, but due to tying in dialogue from Ghosts of Onyx it's clear that it's Sheila as Halsey notes that she personally saw Sheila die on Miridem. The UNSC perspective confirms there was only one Spartan present on the planet. Thus it's clear that the bodyguard in question is Shelia.

Thel proceeds to capture Halsey on the assumption that she is a VIP due to her bodyguard being a Spartan. Halsey's capture forces the UNSC to deploy Spartans to rescue her, and BAM that's where The Package starts off.

Not sure.

Read beyond The Fall of Reach. Read First Strike as well. Jun is no longer with Halsey with the other Spartan II's by the time she reaches Castle Base (and furthermore when Master Chief returns to Reach between Halo 1 and Halo 2)

Jun, or a smaller Spartan is never mentioned. If we were to keep continuity, Jun would have had to perish on the way to Castle base, or in the defense of Dr. Halsey at Castle Base before the Spartan II's find her there.

In one of the books i think First Strike when Halsey gets to Castle base she says my protector was killed aka Jun.

It is often theorized that no one knows. Another popular theory is that no one knows. I, myself, believe that simply, no one knows...

.... or the Elite in the reissue of TFoR killz him >_<

No.

The reissues of the original three novels have new short stories at the end of them. The original content of the novels themselves have not changed aside from minor insignificant edits.
