Allow me first to quote an article found at 1up.com. I know several other places have written on this subject but for several reasons I have quoted the team at 1up and none of them actually matter.
"Supererogtary uncovered four different copyright filings and domain name registrations, for "Seven Seraphs," "Osiris," "New Monarchy," and "Dead Orbit." The copyrights are technically filed for "artwork," but Supererogatory notes that could encompass "all sorts of promotional and marketing like logos." Then of course there are the multiple domain registrations for each one, including .com, .org, and .net variations."
Feel free to check out the post yourself or head over to Supererogtary yourself. The reason I'm posting this is to start a discussion related to their next game.
It seems that either they have copyrighted several different titles as a smokescreen or each of these titles will refer to a different game in their future IP. My vote is for the later since all of the following are seemingly related.
As for what their next game is about it's still purely up to speculation. However I joked a while back with some friends that after they finished with ODST Bungie would bring their friends from firefly back for a reprisal of their roles in firefly. It's not a terrible stretch from the following copyrights. All of which could refer to a game within that universe and while I wish that were true it's probably about as likely as seeing a Halo 4 within the next decade. What I really mean is "A Bungie made Halo 4."
Some specualte that it's a marathon reboot. It might even link the stories between marathon and the halo series. I personally find that hard to believe as the similarities in each series seem to indicate something entirely different. They like the way they name things. They have built a history around certain names and looks and including them in their current games is more a reference to their longstanding history than anything. I for one am excited at the prospect of a new IP. If we see a rocket launcher in this game that has SPNKR written on the ammunition I won't dare claim that Malcom Reynolds is a direct descendant of Master Chief.
That's enough from me, now let me hear your thoughts.
