Please try to keep this spoiler-free.

So for those that have read or are reading Cryptum, is it worth it? Was it what you expected.

1) Worth 30 Bucks? Hell no.
2) was it what I expected? definitely not.
3) was it a good book. barely.
4) was it filled with incredible canon information? yes.

In summary, it was a mediocre book with a crap load of information about the Halo Universe. I still recommend it if you REALLY care about the forerunners.

Edit: If you want a baseline, it was better than the Cole Protocol and the Flood, but falls WELL short of all the other books.

I've been known on here to defend Reach a lot but I in no way think Reach is perfect. If you say "Reach is horrible, halo is ruined" I'll give you the same extremest attitude right back down your throat. Say "Reach could be better if..." I'll have a nice discussion with you.

Cryptum was a fascinating addition to the Halo franchise and I pre-orderd it 3 months ago and it finally got delivered yesterday. I just finished it earlier, It was a great book and was told very well, it is filled with a lot of canon info. I can't tell you if it is worth it for you but for me I do not at all regret buying this book.
