I'd have to say my preference for dual wielding would be a needler and shotgun. Think about it..probably mainly multiplayer....pump them full of needles on a sneak attack and anything left can eat shotgun. Would even be nice to see a flying body from the needles hit on the volley by a shotgun blast...oo exciting thinking about it. Wish i wasn't at uni...i could play Halo hmmm...go home early should i ???

Well as far as i knew being the basis of the whole story line is that Master Chief is just that little bit more special than an ordinary human so i can't see wielding two larger weapons to be too much of an issue, i mean after all he can jump higher than a human, flip a warthog, a scorpion, a ghost etc back onto their feet so why can't he carry 2 weapons that weigh a minute amount compared to them :S. I can understand the reloading factor maybe a bit of a hassle but could easily be fixed with i guess a kind of time penaltie that u have to put up with while reloading larger weapons...that means u just have to hide for a bit longer while reloading, adn therefor u can weigh up the pros and cons of certain combinations depending on what foes you are facing and what kind of weapon power u need. So if u wanna carry 2 shotguns you just have to put up with the time it would take to reload 2 shotguns. Even modifictions to guns such as clip fed shotguns.... i dunno i just don't understand the big fuss about him carrying 2 large weapons...if anyone wants to enlighten me in leui of what i just said as to why this would be a hassle for a cybernetically engineered human...please go ahead.

whats he going to do put one gun on the ground or under his arm while he loads the other weapon i mean come on. And they arent changing the shotgun. if you look at the 3rd mp screen shot it shows one of the spartans holding one. I mean they might change it but i doubt it.

Ever heard of gun holsters...where do u think his guns go in halo when u change weapons :S A holster on his back or on his upper leg...problem solved. As for changing the shotgun...i have no idea either....i still reckon the extra time to reload would be the more realistic option....it would make the game more interesting adn more challenging.

The slower reload time could even out the balance of having duel weapons. I mean two guns like two shotguns would be unbeatable at close range but the slower reload time would keep them balanced and not too overpowering.

Yeah exactly...i reckon it would make the game awesome cool, hehe. Keeping it interesting and challenging and bringing that extra level to the game where your survival depends on how well u can combine weapons. Wouldn't it be cool if it was so

I'm just thinking idealistically of course, and dual grenades would rock (especially frags)

i dunno about dual greandes, maybe being able to throw grenades and fire a weapon at the same time, but meh dual grenades would be a bit pov...it wouldn't really have any lustre

Nice idea. Sidearms... It would also be nice to throw nades behind you as you are exiting a base with the flag.

ok lets just get a little realistic here, there's no way their putting in duel shotguns or duel BRs and odds are the AR wont be in halo 2. i mean it would be possable for the MC to use 2 shotguns, but if they did that EVERYONE would be using them. bungie just wants something to spice things up a bit, not something to totaly dominate everyone. and so far the best duel wepon to me would be the duel needlers, just empty those clips and watch 'em fly.

Do any of u even think about how mc is going to melle attack with two different guns? i mean, with two of the same guns like double plasma rifles would be pretty easy to melle and so would pistols but with a rocket launcher and sniper rifle is going to be pretty damn hard.

The needler will be awesome with dual wielding, not just a boxing glove, if you think about it the dual wielding allows you to carry 3 guns! If you get two weapons would melee be twice as powerful?!

Well I don't know all of the weapons or enemies that will be in Halo 2, but I can say what I prefered in the first Halo. Here are my prefered combos:

Covies: Pistol (for sniping Grunts)/ Plasma Pistol (for getting through those pesky shields)

Flood: Assault Rifle (for desposing off the lil' ones)/ Shotgun (for the big ones)

Halo 2 possibilities:

Covie: Battle Rifle (for sniping all)/ Plasma Pistol (what do you think...?)

Quick plow-throughs: Shotgun (for widing the gap)/ SMG (for those who still stand in your way)

Well, just out of curiosity, does anyone think that there will be other weapons that will be like the shotgun in halo, totally kick @$$? I wonder if the weapons from the brutes could be used. Dont remind me that they vanished in the E3 demo, because the grunt's plasma pistols in the beginning of HALO, after getting the pistol from Keyes, did too.

Another thing: If the flood make it to earth, were all screwed. Just think of all the human combat forms that will be jumping at you. No matter your weapon(s), you will be killed by attribution. Thousands of combat forms and carrier forms, with millions of infection forms. And I really don't want to see a brute (or hunter) combat form. If bungie uses that idea, well, be sure I get my name in the credits.

Ny combo would have to be the Battle rifle "witch has a scope" and the old MA5B assault rifle. now that's ouch time

anyone know if we're going to be able to equip the shields the jackals use? because that'd be pretty cool too. coupled with the plasma sword it would be a pretty formidable combo. how about if they give it to the elites as well? errr, or maybe not. maybe they could incorporate some kind of shield bash too, so it's not entirely defensive. my personal favorite is going to be dual needlers, though. i'd like to see bungie change the melee with the needler so that when you hit someone with it, several needles get lodged in them also. dual needler wielding multi-hit combo's would rule the day!

i am supposing the only weapons which you will be able to pick up two of will be:
pistol
smg
plasma pistol
plasma rifle
needler

i hope the smgs will have a VERY high rate of fire, higher than the assault rifle, equivelent of a todays mac10. around 1000rpm will do. and if you had two of those than it would be 2000 rpm and that's mad.

before i saw the e3 movie i would have said the double smgs but i found them...dissapointing. nothing about the design or the gun...just the sound, was absouletly crap. forgive me for saying that but it was. I think the smgs should be louder (alot louder in this case) with a bigger muzzle flash to give you that all important industructable psycho feeling that you should get with 2 smgs. each round fired should have an explosive noise rather than a -blam!-y "pop" noise they had in E3. Assault rifle in halo is my favoruite weapon not because it is the best weapon to use (plasma rifle would beat it any day, even plasma pistol if everyone could fire 10 bolts per second like me) but because it sounds and feels good. I HOPE YOU READ THIS BUNGIE AND CORRECT WHAT IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE THE ONLY BAD THING ABOUT YOUR GAME.

anyways so my favoruite dual gun will probably be the dual needlers. probably because i want to see what it is going to be like to put 80 needles on a black elite in cooperative mode. that should make him explode more than 10 times, and send him flying to his own planet. in pieces

and although it sounds good, the needler explosive bash is a bad idea because it would unblance the weapons.

Multiplayer would definately be dual pistols, with a shotgun on my back. Not sure how the AR wikll be so I can only suggest what I know...

I voted the double pistols. In halo the pistol is very strong. Think about two! It´s just the ultimate combination!

i disagree. as i see it right now, the needler >>IN MULTIPLAYER<< is the worst weapon in the game. campaign is a whole different ball game. don't get me wrong, i love it, and i even consider myself pretty good with it, but it sucks. it's a bit inaccurate, the needles travel too slow, the # of shots is too few, and you don't even do extra melee damage, even though you're jamming 8" explosive needles into the other guy. the only reason anyone can get a kill with it is in REALLY tight spaces (like the corridor above the overshield in chill out), or if the people you're playing against suck. and suck bad. if it's going to be that ineffective as a ranged weapon, make it more of a melee weapon. so you see, what you consider "unbalancing," i consider "balancing." but who knows, frankie said the needler is going to be a weapon people actively look for, maybe they've already incorporated this idea...and maybe even more?

I think Bungie had the right idea when you could only use two single handed weapons at a time. It would be over kill otherwise. In the least maybe let it be an option in the set up screen to screw around or something, but how would you use two shotguns at the same time. I guess you could pull a Terminator 2 and hop on a ghost like Arnold using one hand to drive the other to shoot then pump the next round in one swift movement, but then again we could launch rockets out our butts if we run out of ammo. The game would start to become a little ridiculous if we started to make gun combo's that were a little far fetched. They want to keep a level of realism to the game, and grant it, the chief can flip a scorpion tank, but he doesn't carry the thing around with him. In battle you want to be fluid and efficient, two shot guns or two rockets or anything that would normally involve two hands, would be cumbersome in a believeable situation. I want that level of limitaion so we don't have some guy running around with two shotguns loading it and shooting it like if he had two pistols in his hand, thats kind of counter-productive in a game of balance. But thats just my opinoin...
