Heres my idea, I know, or more accurately I hope I am not alone in this, after reading all the Halo books I have found myself wanting to be able to be in a real space fight, not with sabres and longswords.
But with real ships, I am talking Pillar of Autum combat
Mac Cannons, Archer Missiles, Shiva Nukes
Hopefully taking place before and after contact with the covenent
Key points should be: The Fall of Harvest, The Fall Of Reach and the Defence of earth
And i cannot stress this enough
I would like to fight Inserrecutionists they were breifly metioned in Reach
but i would imagine for a softcore fan who had just played the halo games would not have know what was going on
But i really want the fan universes opinion on this and hopefully bungies recognition

If somebody's opinion is being smashed and nobody's helping, I try and help. I use logic and extensive vocabulary (and sometimes self-destructive circular reasoning) to confuse my enemies into submission. Fear me, trolling, fapping creatures of the night. For I. Am your worst nightmare.

I have no definite opinion about it. (Since it might not even happen) But the thought is very interesting and could be a good idea.

It would be pretty dificult to make a fun and exciting game of just space combat. Especially with larger ships. I feel like all the levels would basically be the same with a few changes to the scenery. The only way I see this working would be to use small fighter ships for the most part. Then you would be able to have space dog fights, board ememy ships, and even report back to your mothership. A good mission towards the end of the game would be to either defend your mother ship or to plant a bomb in an ememy ship. That's my opinion.

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

Yes it would be awesome fighting the covenant in SPAAAAAACE!

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Ever since I stated reading the epic battles in the books, I've wanted to do the same in a game. So, yes, to space battles.

Yeah I mean one of the things that i find games are doing is the way the game is played, e.g its either concertrated on one person (Halo) or a whole army (Halo wars)
I know there are others possibly you who would love to control ships and then zoom into one of them to control it
And i like the idea about planting a bomb in the convenent ship
although i would think that if they made the game it would be in the level where you defend earth
to quote
"Sir, Permission to leave the hanger"
"for what?"
"To give the convenent back their bomb"

It's Hazard Time

Well, MS already had Freelancer.
You would just need to update the graphics and install a Halo-MOD and you're done ;)

The battle that took place above the Ark in Halo 3 would be really awesome to play too.

Well there is a space Halo mod already being made. It's for a game called "Sins of a Solar Empire".

I agree it does look good, but as with many third party developers they get little facts wrong, (archer missiles firingtoo quickly) (no knowledge of classes e.g Putting fighters on a Destroyer)
and honestly its the little things like this that makes the game good
Another reason i would prefe to play a game created by 343 industries is because well it would keep the halo saga alive
And you and i both know that this is what we all want

I think they should have a capaign mission add on for download to make a space battle mission possible

  • 01.15.2011 4:15 PM PDT

:P

I like this idea. And they should make a video game based on the mission the Spartans took when they had to capture the insurrectionists.

The Space Fights were incredibly one-sided...

Sounds pretty interesting to me.

I think it would be a really good MMORPG or something like that.

if it's like a halo version of SW:Battlefront it would be cool i suppose, but i doubt it would happen.

Some games that are revoulotiounly (cant be bothered to spell right :P) End p being fails but if bungie does this thy could end up with a large market 0_0 I lv th idea of Being a captain for different upgradable and custimisable ships, but i dont think campaigh would do any good, I think it should be a bit ike fable 2 in that its open world (ish) and the ability to bring frends into your game. Mass effect 2 , stuff like Mining , it could be really alsome, games are getting better and even though it could fail, id still honour Bngie in the fact that they tried.

I sound my alsome howl across the universe
