"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

Nathan Wapole. One of the former Bungie animators. The dude that does the Brute animations in the Halo 2 making of documentary.

Ah that's him, thanks. I can never remember him.

Fight to the end, and give it your all.

@StealthSlasher2

Yeah, barely anyone from Bungie moved over to 343 Industries. However, I still have hope for them. They look to be a very promising team.

When I saw Halo legends, I thought to myself, "This is going to be a disaster." But then I read Evolutions and Cryptum and now I have every confidence in 343.

343i has made excellent stuff so far and I also have great faith in them...however after how bungie messed up halo reach I won't believe it until I see it. I don't think Microsoft will mess up halo because in all fairness they need it, not for an FPS but for keeping the vast halo community happy. besides Frank O'conner and Kevin Grace only seem interested in halo and not profit making.

Exactly, Frank seems really passionate about the Halo franchise and looks like he doesn't want to F it up. Frank has always been a community guy, those who have been here since Halo 2 know this, though the activity seems to be on twitter rather than 343's webpage, I hope that changes, if the Halo franchise is to survive, 343 needs to give us weekly updates like Bungie, and regular feed daily (except weekends) They seem to be doing great with things like community stuff on waypoint, but I just wish they would be a bit vocal with us, I mean I think we deserve it since the fanbase is now in the hands of a complete different company.

I don't know about faith, have been unfairly harsh on them in the past and I have been a bit disappointed by some of their products, but I am interested in seeing what they'll do with their first Halo game. They may only have a couple people from Bungie, but I don't think that Bungie are the only people who can make a Halo game(and I've been disappointed with various aspects of the last few anyway) and 343 has plenty of other experienced people.

So I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic.

Something you should know: Frank O' Connor worked for OXM until WELL after The original halo released. I also believe he was not hired by bungie until sometime after Halo 2, although it may have been before.

Same here. Although I absolutely hate what they did to the Forerunner story that Bungie had created around the Didact and the Librarian, and how much the story of Cryptum differs from the little we saw of history in Iris and the Terminals, I hope that somehow they'll make everything fit.

IIRC, he joined sometime in 2003, and was credited as part of the Bungie.net team in the Halo 2 manual, and and as the Managing Editor under the writing section of the Halo 3 credits.

He may not have been too involved with the actual development, but he does seem to care about the universe.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Hence how he got the nickname of "the godfather of Halo's canon".

I have faith in 343.
I mean what have they brought us so far?

Halo Evolutions, which is a GREAT collection of stories.
Halo Waypoint, I mean not always that interesting, but those One comics? Awesome!
Halo Legends, not always in line with canon but more than half of the episodes were good fun.

The Forerunner trilogy (will get Cryptum somewhere next week, but sounds extremely promising)

Rumoured Halo CE remake...would be amazing.

Continued Halo Wars support: they listened to the fans.

Really: all I hope is 343 will have the balls to take what is great in the Halo series and evolve it. I had a blast with the Bungie Halos. They are arguably amongst the best I've ever player. But after 5 Halo's and a taste of Halo in a new jacket (Wars, which was amazing) I want something new.
So here's hoping 343 will give us something different. Squad based ODST game perhaps? Something that is a lot grittier?

A game that plays like Evolutions read: small 1-2 level stories taking place all over the Halo universe.

Who knows, but I'm looking forward to it!

Twitter | Nothing

I'm willing to see how they do and what kind of stuff they release in the future. It almost definitely won't be the Halo we know and love at present but their perspective might be just as entertaining as Bungie's.

Unfortunately they can't just give us weekly updates or anything like that right now. I thought exactly what you thought then realised that right now bungie is managing all halo related updates and if 343 were to do the same there would be some friction and repetition. you only need one developer being vocal about halo and since the latest halo game is bungie made, bungie has the right to do all the updates. besides they've been doing it for years and the fans would seriously react to 343 just taking over it.
