wat would happen if one of the covenant species broke away i mean if the grunts left then that would domalish their pop. and if the jackels left there would be no more snipers and stealth fighters if the elites left then the profets would lose all there mitary strength and polictical control and if the hunters left then the covenant would be so much easier to beat if the profets left then who would know where the Forruner objects would be ( maybe the engineers but they're no that smart) and isnt that wat the entire covanant belief is about to be like the gods

Why exactly would this happen? The grunts are scared as hell of the authority and none of them would ever dare test the elites authority thus I doubt the grunt race would break away. Secondly, the jackals are not snipers or stealth, I dont know where the hell you got that point from. Anyways overall, why would any of this happen? All Covenant races are keen on cooperating to obtain the same goal - destroy the humans.

First of all you should switch to decaf. Second of all the Grunts and Jackals would never leave because they're too afraid of the consequences. Hunters have a feeling of warrior pride, Elites follow the Prophets because of religious dedication. Finally the Prophets wouldn't abandon such a position of power. However a civil war amongst the Covenant could be interesting...(see thread "Common Politicians")

if by some chance with their overpowering strength and military brillance the hunters break away bc according to Convenant Primer they still uphold their own customs and always travel in pairs could mean that hunters might have the strength and will power to break away if the need arise i repeat if the need arise/ other than that i dont see elites breaking with the profets but if you lose any of the covenant u might see major collaspe/ take away the brain and the body is useless take away the body and the brain is defenseless

Jackals are considered to have stealth and be snipers. As the reasons above stated, none of them would leave the Covenant group.

I hosted a thread a few days ago on a similar subject. Here were my thoughts in relation to your thread:)

Subject: COVENANT ALLIANCE SYSTEM MAY FALL APART...

If you've read "The Covenant Primer," an article recently released by Bungie that explains some of the Covenant heirarchy and background, then you know that the Covenant are only held together by very loose strands of allegiance. The Covenant aren't held together by some common god/gods; rather, each species within the Covenant alliance uses, NOT HELPS, the other species. For example, the article described the relationship between the Prophets and the Elites, an "unesy" one at best, as hired muscle. The Elites are paid by being given access to Forerunner technology. In return, they expand the Covenant empire through assimilation of species found usefull, Grunts and Engineers, or total destruction of rival and non-usefull species, Humans. Similar alliances are found all through out Human history. For example, look at the Punic Wars in Roman history. Carthage, a rival to Rome, hires an army of mercenaries, paid soldiers, to expand their empire. Eventually this action forces Rome, who had a citizen army, into war with Carthage. To make a long story short, Rome wins. ( Bungie has in the past made many parallels to ancient Roman and Greek history.) All alliances fall apart when when common interest are no more. In the case of Carthage, hired soldiers would only fight with winning odds; thus, the alliance ended with defeat. May it be for survival, Grunts, or victory in battle, Elites, some Covenant species may find more correlation with the Humans. Again, the Covenant aren't held together by religion; instead, they are held together through the bonds of survival(Grunts),greed(Prophets), and power(Elites)!

P.S.
I know, I know, it looks like I've let my imagination get to me; however, Bungie always throws in the unexpected, ALWAYS!!!

Shadogrunt....use periods and commas (these things , .) And correct spelling errors. I don't think the covenant would break up because who knows what happened to each species original planet (especially thr Grunts).

The Hunters and Brutes have no space fleet so the Covenant have got ships orbiting their planets ready to glass them if they dare break away. If the humans took these ships out though the Brutes and Hunters may decide that it is the right time for a rebellion. As for the Grunts and Jackals they would probably join the winning side.

I wonder why everyone only thinks "what if a covenant spieces rebels?!"
I don't see many people thinkníng "What if a group of prophets gets unhappy with the way the rest of the covenant are doing, and decides to leave with the elites etc loyal to them and found a new 'covenant'". This way, it would be two groups with all the species in.,

Nah, the Prophets are basically just using the Forerunner religion to manipulate the Covenant to their own ends (i think its some sort of ascending to a higher plane thing)
