same, but I also did not intend it to mean you can't buy new 360 games that have not been released.

How about instead of selling all my games, I just fork out the cash that would be needed to buy them back.

Well, I wouldn't really give up anything or I might just give up $19.99

  • 01.15.2011 10:20 PM PDT

I would gladly give $5 a month to keep H2 servers up, but Bungie wont do that, so i'll just have to keep using that private server backup i have for me and my friends. i remember the night the servers went down, me and all my buddys stayed up and played til the server shut off. brings back memories to play the campaign.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Talk to them, make them see the financial benefits of turning the servers back on. That's the only realistic option left, unless someone buy's the right to old xbox live network and buy back the old servers and is willing to maintain and operate them for us to play online.

Till they bring it back I"ll just play Halo 2 through xlink kai, xbox connect, and PC version.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

This thread shows some people really do have no life.

Supreme Dictator, Industrial Polluter, Megalomaniac, Corrupt Politician, Underhanded Reprobate, Rainforest Ravager, Puppy Kicker, Oil Spill Coordinator, Holiday Hater, and an Insurance Salesman.

None of the above. That's too obsessive.

I wonder how harshly someone would be hated for not winning the 1v1 BRs against Microsoft to get Halo 2 back online...

Halo 2 was one of the no... Was the best online game ever!!!! I couldnt even think of why they took it off!!! I wish halo 2 was back so much! I think we should keep pushing them til they put it back on!!!

  • 01.16.2011 11:23 AM PDT

I need the halo servers back online!!! Seriously if bungie took a look at how many people liked halo 2 why dont they just remake halo 2 with all its original items just boost the graphics and hook it up to online and then sell the remade game with a few add-on every now and then then they would make alot of money plus make halo fans all over the world have something to cheer about all over again!! Bungie if you listen to this message and just about exactly this then you have no idea how many people will be happy because of this. You have no idea how many people are longing to have halo 2 back again.

They would get hate mail from the 6 people who come on here and flame "I want it back".

Just because nobody comes on the Halo 2 forums (and not every fan is a Bnet member) doesn't mean a lot of people don't want it back.

There seems to be more activity here than on the PC forums to me. Maybe it's because I don't pay that much attention. I don't know.

Ok then, here are the people who still play Halo 2:

People who can't afford a 360 (and couldn't afford the $50 a year anyway).

People still partying like its 2004.

People who loved the "skill" of halo 2 (and MLG tools)

And that's about all I can think of.

Most people moved on when the game went past both of it's expiration dates, first 9-25-07, and then 4-15-10.

Halo 2 is dead, a shutdown was not needed, as it was dying out slowly. Most of the playlists were dead (a flaw of matchmaking), and games kept coming up short of the minnium, or filling up then going back to "Searching for Players". Halo 3 is going the same way is 2 was, and in a few years, when halo 4/5/ce remake/whatever comes out, people will treat Reach and 3 as "Godly."

Dead before shutdown? no, no and no. Even before the shutdown was announced, I played a good amount of Halo 2 every month. Even in 2008 and 2009. Sure I didn't play it as much as I could have but I still played it a lot. And I could always find a game in Big Team Battle without long search times.

Halo 3 and Reach? Godly? Hell no. That's why I continued to play Halo 2 a good amount after Halo 3 was released is because it was just not as good. You may think mechanics like hitscan are nooby but they did even the playing field and only the more skilled would win a duel. Halo 3 was all who had the better connection wins. That is an aweful experience. Of course, on LAN you won't see as many problems but XBL is supposed to be the main experince.

Reach took out the consistency out even more by adding bloom to headshot capable weapons. Hitscan being readded to the series did eliminate many connection advantages but in the end bloom ruined what would have been a great experience. I don't see why they didn't just keep weapons like the DMR with a controlled rate of fire which would have eliminated the need for bloom.

Halo 2 was the same way too. It was luck based unless you abuse glitches to give an illusion of skill.

Guess what, Halo CE has bloom too. The crosshair doesn't expand, but it has it. And many other FPS games have expanding crosshairs too.

But it's ok, let's party like it's 2004.

lolwut? That rarely ever happened to me in Halo 2 even after Halo 3 came out. That is actually how Halo 3 was during its whole life. *Thinks back to Squad Battle or anything else that had more than 4 players.*

Halo 2 was the same way too. It was luck based unless you abuse glitches to give an illusion of skill.

Not even close. I can't tell you just how many times my shots don't register on Halo 3 because of the lack of mechanics like hitscan. On Halo 2, unless it was complete red bar connection, it was an even playing field with the BR because of hitscan. And if you want to bring glitches into this, they, while being unintentional, took some amount of skill to pull off. Double Shot, BXR, Super bouncing you name it. A lesser skilled player is not going to pull these off effectively.

Guess what, Halo CE has bloom too. The crosshair doesn't expand, but it has it. And many other FPS games have expanding crosshairs too.

Your reading skills are awefull. I know bloom was in CE, I know it is in 2 and 3. However, it was not on headshot capable weapons (only exception is holding down the trigger on the pistol in CE).

And finally, why are you even on the Halo 2 forum if you hate it? Then again why are you Bungie.net at all if you don't like consoles? Except the Halo 1 and 2 PC forum I guess.
