How is that Harvest is said to be almost on the farthest out reaches of UNSC Space whenever the Epsilon Ini System is only 11.83 light years away from the Sol System?

The Razor.

For the honour of the Mirratord.

Because Harvest is a fictional planet; it does not exist.

But the system isn't.

It really doesn't make any sense. There are many planets mentioned that are much farther away. Harvest is actually one of the closest extrasolar colonies.

It'd be nice if it were further, but I guess fairly small inconsistencies like this are understandable. Giving many planets real world locations and keeping all the locations and travel times consistent is hard work.

Because it is further in the halo universe.

Because they didn't check their facts when they made up where Harvest is. It's funny the system where Reach is is farther away than the system where Harvest is.

Little mistakes like this just bother me. It's really not that big of a deal, but still. I just think that if Halo takes place in a real universe (ours) then it should be parallel when it comes to things like real locations. uhg.

In other words- Harvest is in the outer reaches of UNSC Space. Indi is 11 light years from Sol, therefore there should be no other colonies exceeding more than 11 light years away. If there were colonies further than that, then Harvest is not that far out. But there are, meaning that Harvest REALLY ISN'T in the outer reaches of UNSC Space. BUT the story says it is.

Whateverrrr lol.

The geometry of slipspace is different.

Boom.
I should really become a professional retconner.

Again, the Halo universe is not the same, Epsilon Indi is 80-100 light-years away from Earth, not 11.

Perhaps it's the furthest away in that direction?

It's a fictional universe. They switched the distances around, perhaps?

Nope. It's been stated to be 11.whatever lightyears from Earth in the Haloverse. It's also not a very good solution, as the writers have been pretty good at using the real world locations of stars.

Perhaps it's the furthest away in that direction?

This would be the best solution, but it still doesn't seem that great of one.

Actually, it is at least 84 light-years away according to the books, not 11. Where did you get that from?

The encyclopedia, which lists its location as 11.whatever lightyears away. Of course that book isn't without errors, but I still think it doesn't make a lot of sense that have Epsilon Indi in a completely different location.

Joe Staten just wasn't paying too much attention to the actual position of the stars and travel times. Which is annoying, if understandable.

The encyclopedia has several errors, including the height of elites, go by the distance stated in Contact Harvest, past Madrigal, which was 84 light years away from earth.
