Subject: Could the Halo 3 Legendary Planet be Charum Hakkor? (Cryptum Spoilers)

In Chapter 12 page 117 (oddly), the ship has taken the Didact, Bornstellar and the two humans to a planet called Charum Hakkor.

It is stated the planet is an old Precursor planet, which would explain the markings seen in Halo 3.

The Didact walked west, toward the blue star...
Could this be the same blue star that rises above the planet in Halo 3?

I have only read this far, so I don't have much more information on the planet, but as I read more, I will update as nessesary.

"Time was your ally human. But now it has abandoned you. The Forerunners....have returned. And this tomb... is now yours". - The Didact

But mendicant bias said that the legendary planet is inhabited by the Forerunners(last terminal)

And why didn't we encountered any forerunners in the human-covenant war

I think it's safe to say that the legendary planet isn't located in our milky way but in another galaxy.

Remember that the encyclopedia stated that the forerunners left the galaxy.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The fact that it is on page 117 tells me it is definitely a clue.

Hey, you stole my idead ):

Anyway, I think its a very strong possibility, but what you have to remember is those lights can't be Precursor. They would have been vaporized when the Halo Array fired to destroy the Flood, so the lights are Forerunner it seems, but...

Forerunners could move planets and stars with relative ease, so maybe it is Charum, and they took it with them for some reason when they left.

And even if they didn't take it with them, we know the Ark portal is attached to Charum Hakkor, since Medicant Bias used it to get there....

And clearly Bias knew of the place. Perhaps he sent you there to show you what he had done, how he had released the Captive[Gravemind?], as the first step to prove to the Forerunners he had seen the error of his ways....

Wow, this could be true.

Dark Neptune, a young amateur astronomer whose gaming life is no different from other teenagers of his age, though he controls it more strictly then others.

117 says it all.

Previous 117 examples:

The First Reach and ODST trailers was 1:17 long. The 2nd Reach trailer (VGA 2009) had Jorge saying a line at 1:17 refering to Noble Six's possible SPARTAN-III background.

It's everywhere, man.

Holy -blam!- yes.

But didn't the last terminal stated that he would send the chief to the Forerunners to show he has changed?I doubt that the forerunners are still in the milky way unless like you said they moved the system to another galaxy and built their citys on it

Halo 4 will probably be mysterious like Halo ce :)

He said "the path ahead will be frought with peril." Indicating he orchestrated a long journey to the Forerunners, possibly to better explain the Chief's skill as a guardian of all life in the galaxy/universe, to better prove he is the gift Medicant has for his "atonement."

Humans are Forerunners. Or, at least Forerunner rebels basically... The legendary planet could very well be Earth. For the OP: Yes I can see that.

Nah it's revealed in the terminals and cryptum that Forerunners and hulans are different species but are similar just like a Lion and a Tiger

Earth doesn't orbits a blue sun

Damn, great observation. You're probably right, as the Precursors had architecture that would be visible from space (you can see patterns on the surface at the end of Halo 3).

This would suggest perhaps that Charum Hakkor contains the secret for finding where the Forerunner went, because they wanted to follow in the Precursor's footsteps after the Rings were fired. Maybe there's a portal there.

I still reckon humans are just the same as Forerunner, except separated for a long time and evolved somewhat differently (disguised by the fact that Forerunners artificially mutate themselves at the age of about 12). The Forerunner leaders were power hungry, and when they came across humanity, they reacted similarly to how the Covenant had. Felt that humanity could usurp their place as rulers of the galaxy, so tried to exterminate them. The humans were probably more intelligent because they would have evolved more - shorter lifespans, greater war efforts, less regimented society/class-system.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

nice idea but sadly idon't think it is. Medicant bias stated that he was sending master chief to his makers and we all know by know the forerunners left the orion arm after the halo fire.

that knowledge alone kills the idea, plus the forerunner symbol is on the planet so it can't be precursor.

Because the Forerunners couldn't have adopted their language and symbols from the Precursors, right?
