Multi-trillionaire modern cowboy.

That's right.

Yeah, that's right, again(:

tl;dr at bottom btw,

We're talking about most logic here,
I personnally think it'll be Halo whose the most logical, which is crazy, knowing that movies are judged by their storyline, and games more about gameplay. Their are not many gaps in Halo's universe... The only thing I can think of now, is the fact that a pump action shotgun in 2500 is highly unlikely... But that's gameplay purpose. Ooh, jetpack on ODST's too.

Then comparing to SW,
A long time ago, in a galaxy, far, far, away... they speak english
It's for the sake of the movie though, so it's not really a good point, so I fail. I'm sorry.. uhh. It's knowed that Jedi are large threats, so why don't they use more explosive weapons? well, either way, discuss:

WHICH UNIVERSE IS MORE REALISTIC AND WELL THOUGHT COMPARING TO THE AGE WE LIVE IN NOW?

The envisioned Star Wars Universe, including the Expanded Universe, was meant to be as realistic as possible. However, it just ain't so.
By the way, I think this is the wrong Forum. Flood?

Star Wars, definitely.
Not only because I love Star Wars more than Halo, but because, seriously; the stuff in Halo will not happen to humanity.

The stuff in Star Wars could be set anywhere, at any time. (A long time ago in a galaxy far away)

Depends, why on earth(oops meant star wars galaxy) would all the species of a galaxy just come to peace so easily and fall prey to the empire so fast? It illogical, the force? please...

Halo on the other hand can be realistic if the covenant existed, humanity is what it will be in 500 years, colonizing worlds and expanding, that much is true, we didn't focus on war, so we really didn't advance into that, although we got far in slipspace travel, Mark VI armor, and MAC stations.

Besides, Elites beat Jedi's anyday, I'd rather have an entire species of over 10 billion 8'6 Elites than a small band of a few thousand jedi that can go down by a few Clone troopers.

Life?
I have the internet and Doctor Who; i don't need a life.

in the Star Wars universe, things look like they could be made sometime in the future by humans. in the Halo universe, everything looks a little bit too round and shiny to be built for real.

you got the universes mixed up. Seriously.

Anyway, Halo, beyond a shadow of a doubt. The aliens don't all look human, the technology is based off of real world science, and the statistical numbers make sense.

Though, officially, George Lucas' universe (the only one that exists as far as he's concerned) is pretty real. But still.

I adore the original Star Wars trilogy and I still enjoy it watching it again and again. But the new trilogy and the expanded universe and most of the games do not, for me, add to the universe. Instead they butcher key story elements for the sakes of a hook to make sales which I think is a shame.

At the moment I still really like the Halo games and original novels but I am constantly worried that it will go the way of the Star Wars EU with too many writers trying to add to the world ending up with crossed wires, plotholes, contradictions and just good old fashioned bad storylines.

I wonder if the gun works on that thing. On the warthog gun in the video i mean.

Halo is very realistic sci-fi universe. There are only few things that aren't currently technically possible like AI (will probably be soon), slipspace traveling (could theoretically be possible, and energy shielding (there is some research currently on this subject. There are also things that don't seem technically possible like MAC guns but they are. It's just about money. If we had enough natural resources we could probably build something like that.

Things in Starwars universe aren't as realistic as in Halo universe but light sabers actually aren't very different to energy swords. There are things like "force" in Starwars and that's why I say that Halo is more realistic.

I'd say Star Wars is superior to the Halo universe. There is something more mysterious about Star Wars, and that broad sense of exploration - hundreds of varying Planets and Solar Systems, it's of an epic proportion. Halo, on the other hand, is somewhat less interesting, focusing more on the Humanity of Earth and their travels in the Milky Way Galaxy. Star Wars could be based anywhere - A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Seriously Oak, Ive been doing this -blam!- for 16 years, gimmie my Friggen starter Pokemon and dont call me till im the champion! ¬_¬

Good sci fi needs realism, its that simple really

Its more than just saying "The spaceships can travel 10 times the speed of light" and actually explaining the mechanics of it in some way, shape or form, like the SF drives that bend the space between two points of reality.

They both appeal to scientific principles, and even the most outrageous of plot holes can be filled by good science, explanations and theoretics

Like star wars having an entire solar system using a language found billions of light years and thosands of years from them

They could come out and claim that a cruiser came to earth at the turn of the 14th centuary and some humanoid jedi decendents educated and turned our society to become smarter and revolutionise are technology

You'll find alot of this in halo aswell, and its easy to say that halo is the new modern day star wars, its just a story thats not so widely known because video games target such a niche audience
