Guilty Spark is invincible in Halo 1.

Using halo's teleportation system to get as far away from halo as possible, then he could have flown through space for a short amount of time until he hooked up with the heretics while they were on their merry way somewhere. it's perfectly conceivable they were near halo at the time of it's demise. other covenant were. a defecting elite could have picked him up, or a soon to be convinced elite. the 'oracle' is pretty chatty. or maybe he had a little escape pod; so that he didn't fall into the wrong hands. he does have a lot of info.

When the halo array is fired only sentient organic beings seem to be destroyed, that which can sustain the flood, 343 guilty spark is a shiny robot ball thingy

It wasn't fired, it was destroyed.

Valiant men have died here so we don't have to, so let's get the hell out.

He flew away, as shown at the end of CE. I imagine he's capable of flying pretty fast (we see him jet off toward Alpha Halo 2.0 in Halo 3, remember). As said earlier he may also have used Halo's teleportation grid. Gravemind was able to use it to send Master Chief up to High Charity in Halo 2 so the grid clearly has a range beyond the ring.

After that he flew toward the nearest Forerunner installation (the gas mine/Flood research facility in Threshold's atmosphere) where he linked up with the team of Elites who would become the Heretics. That part (the Heretics being in the gas mine) is mentioned in the extra stuff in the back of one of the new releases of the old books, I think it's The Flood. Possibly First Strike.

Seriously Oak, Ive been doing this -blam!- for 16 years, gimmie my Friggen starter Pokemon and dont call me till im the champion! ¬_¬

Probobly didnt

when halo blew up itd of destroyed the atmosphere, but you'll notice most of the tech on it would have survived

all he'd have to do was be in an underground room that wasnt near one of the snapping into shards, then he'd just drifted through space to the ark :P

My theory at least :P

He did survive, that's the point.
And what's this about drifting to the Ark? He got there with the fleet the Chief was on, not independantly, plus he didn't go strait from Alpha Halo to the Ark; he went to Threshold and Delta Halo as well.
