I think there should be a Halo MMO like what Ensemble studios did but got canceled. But it looks fun to have a Halo MMO, I don't see what's wrong with it though...

Halo MMO

They've done one for Pokemon, which was already ruined.
They've done one for Star Wars and ruined it.

They will NOT ruin Halo as long as I still type weird replies in these forums!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

The concept has enterted pre production in the past. It was shut down, though.

I hope it never happens.

I like Halo, but an MMO would just not work

MMOs need to be a place where thousands of players all interact at once, not a warzone. There needs to be dozens of different storylines to keep people interested, not just a single war that they're constantly fighting. Also, you need to be able to customize you character, with better ordinance and skills, which would be kind of ridiculous in a Halo setting.

star wars galaxies was amazing and now sw: the old republic will be even better so i dont think the star wars mmo was ruined.....

It's Hazard Time

Not in the form we know Halo at least.
To make a MMO "big" these days, it would probably have to be free 2 play, and without any classes and levels.

All that matters are credits, which allow you to buy new equipement and stuff, and combat is based on your actual skill (aiming) and maybe to some extend your gear. Still, I can't see a "halo" like that, unless we get a MMO-Star wars battlefront clone (sounds quite nice actually) :)

If there was to be a Halo MMO... I'm guessing it would go alone the lines of games like Empire Total War, but you participating from the perspective of one soldier among the hundreds that fight at a time.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I just can't see Halo as an MMO.

Bungie could. They and Ensemble actually worked 2 years on an MMO project which got scraped by Microsoft. I wouldn't be surprised if their next project was one. In the very least, they've got the best partnership for it.

If it will be a MMO FPS without 1 big persistent world but huge Battlefield like maps spread across the galaxy (which you choose to play on from a map/list), in which you have the ability to align yourself with a side (UNSC/Covenant/Rebels/Flood) and which has hub locations where you can walk around the "capital city" of your faction: Yes.

If you mean a MMO-RPG: No.

But remember: an MMO does not equal MMORPG. MMO merely stands for Massively Multiplayer Online. And can really be applied to any genre.

try post Halo 3 then. Only if it was post Halo 3 would it make sense story-wise

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

No, thanks.

I'd rather have another FPS or RTS.

A halo MMO would be cool as long as it wasn't third person.

  • 01.18.2011 8:41 AM PDT

Nah, I actually prefer it to stay as a FPS.

Don't you mean RPG? Or would you be alright with a First Person MMORPG?
