"The crew of V-398 barely survived their unplanned landing in this gorge...this curious gorge."

ive always wondered what it meant, and if there was something more to it than at first glance.

I am the last of the primes.

Well a pelican crashed and they barely stayed alive during the fall, and then they were like *wtf are those 2 big things that are shooting light beams into space???*

where did they come from?
where did they go?
how did they stay alive?
what year was it in?
who was on the ship?

sounds like a novel could be made from it...or at least a short story

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

...or a machinima. This is very, very interesting. I'm curious now. Maybe they have something about it on Halopedia.

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

Well I've always imagined this was a reference to Curios George (film/cartoon). Anyways, I wouldn't consider MP maps 'canonical'. They may reference moments from the campaign (or are actually in the campaign in Reach's case) but that doesn't make them part of the official Halo storyline.

As valhalla is on the Ark (look at the horizon) my guess is that they are one of the pelicans that was shot down once they left the 'foward unto dawn'. (watch the Ark's opening cutscene)

hmm, interseting. ive never thought of it like that

thanks for the input

I seem to remember a pelican getting pwned in the opening cut scene to the Ark its I would imagine this is the pelican that crashed on Valhalla

The landscape resembles that of The Covenant. Presumably the Pelican was shot down during the battle of the Citadel. It was probably one of Johnson's Pelicans. The structures would be a part of the superluminal communications array. The crew stayed in the valley before Johnson rounded them up.

The valley is far away from te core,so no it isn't near the citadel

Message me if you want, I will try to get back as soon as possible.

See you on the forums and in the games.

I think it's just a nod to Halo:CE. There may be more to it though.
