I just recently Honorably Discharged from the US Marines. I wanted to let everybody know how many of us actually play Halo and Halo 2. I fought in Operation Enduring Freedom and we played 16 player Halo games every night or with any spare time we had. It was awesome, because for a second you weren't in some crappy country, you were just hanging out with your buddies. I just wanted to send my thanks and appreciation to Bungie for creating the best game in the world. I also have a question I would like answered by somebody who knows what the are talking about. In Halo 1, multiplayer, why did I get killed by The Guardians like 10 times. If anyone has this answer please let me know. Also i have just created a new group. Marines on Halo any jarheads out there that play want to join just let me know. You will be welcomed. Proof will be required to join, EAS, MOS, and Current Duty Station. Only the top 2 apply for fomer Marines.

Congratulations I took the bait and re-uped to 2008

As for the HAL0 1 question about guardians and their removal it should be asked in the Libary which is for HAL0 1 discussion.

For the group ad you should post in the classifieds, or try and PM others.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Thanks for fighting for freedom. I apreciate it.

I always found it ironic that the vast majority of servicemen choose to unwind by playing violent video games... ; )

And as for your question, killed by the guardians is a message the game gives you when it's not sure what killed you, just that you're dead.

It can also be beacause you were killed by a object of the map, like being crushed, or splattered by a box.

And thank you for serving our country. :)

It is because we have to exercise an incredible amount of restraint. I mean if you have someone who shot and hit you with a pistol only to drop it and surrender just befor you return the favor would you shoot him or would you follow the rules?

Plus there is the resistance of dealing with all the BS that goes on duty. One of the discriptions of a Marine that can be understood is as follows.Marine:n (Mar-ine) An overworked underpaid disgruntled government employy who has sworn atleast 4 year of his life away which could be verry much the rest of it, to have his life dictate by politics, held to standards that surpass anyother service member, live under conditions that are declared inhumane for a convicted fellonAs you see we have a lot of steam that we need to get out at times.
