Subject: Took about 5 minutes to load a custom game

Put in Halo 2 for the first time in years and made a custom game. I just wanted to nostalgia and such. Anyway, I'm the only player in the lobby obviously but after the countdown it said, "Waiting for all players to load the map." Took me about 5 minutes. Should I be worried? I remember the disc being a little faulty back when I played it.

As a side question, is this the only way to get the DLC maps back? If so, can someone explain how to connect the HDD to your computer and can it potentially corrupt the rest of your data? The guy in the video doesn't really go over it.

....umm im sure that is not supported here as it leads to piracy etc etc etc.....

so you are just going to be out of luck...or buy the dlc disks from a game store... or play halo 2 vista/7 lol.

I don't think it is piracy since all the maps were free at one point. Every thread that mentions the maps has someone linking this video.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It's only remotely not allowed here if you use a softmod, and only because softmods are banned here. And the DMCA made softmods and jailbreaks legal for the purpose of running unoffical apps.

But back to normal, I have the same load issue on my 20gb 360. It's a weird glitch, as it works fine on my Xbox 1.

I've had the same thing happen with my 360. For some reason it would work fine on XBL but would take forever when I would play offline while trying to have a LAN party.

there is a keyword in what I said, can you kiddies read and see properly.... let me help you "LEADS" .... It can/has/will lead to piracy, stuff like that always will...

But anyways, hope he/or/she gets it working, if not just go buy H2V, next best option to playing an old game for fun. Then also, I recall having issues playing with my 360, even when halo 2 was still online. But I always played it on my Original Xbox... (Rrod, happened to 4 360s, so I had no other choice but to revert back to the first xbox, it's a Ver.1 xbox, same parts working fine) so I guess you can play on an old xbox then lol. Then get you some XBC fun times on there... sure there is like 2-10 ppl playing on that program...

I had the same issue too while playing custom games. Whenever I would join someone's game (or host one), I would get stuck at a long long load screen.

Also, Xbox 1 is dead, and no one makes anymore money from it.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

It takes forever for maps to load their first time on a 360.

Odd, because it did that a lot when I still played h2.

Same here. And sometimes it would say I didn't have any of the maps. You could always get the Map Pack Disk on Ebay, Where it should only be about Five Dollars.

Well I rarely played H2 on my 360 but when I did it would take 3-5 minutes to load the first map then the rest seemed to load quicker.

No it doesn't.
That's like saying giving a child some candy for free will lead him to stealing his own one day. It doesn't quite work like that.

Many people download freeware games/applications. They then don't go on to pirating software. The map pack went free and is still free today. Downloading it won't lead to piracy.

It's still piracy, even if it was offered free on Xbox LIVE. If anything, it should be even more enforced at this point as there is still a legal way to purchase the license to use these maps. That's the key. When you downloaded these items from Xbox LIVE, you were not only downloading the maps, but also the legal license to use them. You are not getting the license to use them from a legitimate place here. This is the illegal reproduction of these maps without the license, and that's what internet piracy is. So this indeed piracy, despite the maps being free.
