Brutes weigh 1500lbs
This explains why Jetpack Brutes fall to their deaths on Alpha Site even when their jetpacks are at full thrust - they ate too much cake!

I am the Troll King.

I always knew brutes were better than thought. Although elites still beat them in a war. But still brutes are pretty good.

Hey.

I'm awkward. Do you want to be awkward together?

...

That was nice.

If Brutes could keep their cool in the same way as an Elite, they'd absolutely dominate them. But Elites seem to have higher reaction speed and reasoning due to the ability to keep calm when in high-pressure situations. That said, I'm sure theres quite a few Brutes out there that have taught themselves to keep cool, but it comes naturally to Elites.

The actual book of the wiki just to make sure. And are you sure it actual says in black and white enhacnes strength instead of it protects them with shielding because it seems strange that someone wouldn't out this done in the wiki because I can't find anything about enhanced strength on the armour harness page.

The actual book, not Halopedia.

Anyway, it is in black and white, explicitly stated twice:

Pg 125, Under section titled "Elite Combat Harness", line 4.

Pg 134, Under section titled "Brute Armour", lines 4-6.

I am going to add something else to this discussion. Not very many people pay attention to the weight of each species, always the height. Weight would actually define their strength more than height, which is largely unimportant. The weight given for Elites is 318lbs. That was the first weight given for them when the Halo 3 Bestiarium came out, and it has not changed since then. The Encyclopaedia also states that. There is no bickering over disparate figures with that. As far as I know, no others exist.

That weight makes no sense given how strong they are supposed to be. There is no way they are naturally as strong as Spartans in Mjolnir with a weight like that. If you look at the last few world champions at heavy weight lifting:

Zydrunas Savickas: 386lbs.
Mariusz Pudzianowski: 313lbs
Phil Pfister: 375lbs.

Do you get it now? These guys are about the same, and even heavier, than an average Elite is supposed to be.

You can either retcon the Elites weight to something far bigger, or make up some reason as to why they are appearing so strong yet appear so skimpy a.k.a. Armour reason. It appears that 343 Industries have gone for the explanation rather than the retcon.

In implication however, I wonder if Bungie/343Industries know what they have done. That implies that the natural strength of an Elite is comparable to slightly above Human average, on par with our strongest. Not that that was ever in question from the beginning mind you. I only ever remember the Halo: CE manual stating Elites to be "incredibly strong". End of. That could mean anything, even this. The average Elite being equal to the strongest Humans is still fitting of the description given.

"Your final doom is upon you... mortals!"
"Yeah yeah. That's what your Psi Brigade said too."

"No... No, he's not a demon lord."
"How do you know?"
"He doesn't dress cool enough."

They're a Covenant species for a reason. But calling them 'dumb apes' is cool.

People need to give them credit, I mean to make a hammer that can manipulate gravity, genius.

Yeah I need to get me that book. And I agree the wieght for elites dose seem incredibly low for a giant therpod creature know for it's physical dominace in battle. I think they might have made a big blunder when puting up the stats of the elite.
It's annoying because it dosen't state the wieght of them in my reach stratergy guide.
