Im desperately hoping that 343 will announce Halo Wars 2 at some point this year. I loved the original (despite its limitations) and would love to play a sequel.

What are your thoughts?

The chances are, I would buy it.

Although, I would rather have sequal be a FPS in which you play as a marine or ODST alongside Forge and sthe spartans in a retelling of the story.

As i think that Halo Wars has a stronger story than Reach, but in Wars, you are playing the role of 'god' and so you don't realy get to capture the emotion and the evolution of the charicters.

In terms of story i didnt like it as much as the other Halo games. I thought the gameplay was great though, and the controls were perfect for a console.

Id love it to have more units available and to have a map editor also

YES!

Also: they (343) should bring back the guys from Ensemble to make it again.

AND: include Kinect as optional controls. I would rather play with voice and motion controls than a controller alone (even if that worked perfectly in Wars)

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I would by it opening day.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

agreed Ensemble did a great job with the original and are the best team to make a sequel

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Yes, unlike some RTS Elitists I actually enjoyed Halo Wars.

We had some great games, eh Richard? ;)

I really hope that a sequel is made, for now I'm glad 343 Industries saved the first game from getting shut down.

If you still have Wars, I'd like to play sometime with you. 2v2 or 3v3.

Same here.

I dont consider myself to be RTS Elitist, but I played my fair share of all Age of Empires, Warcraft 3 and Rome: Total War...
Wars is 100% Halo in everything it does and therefore a good RTS Halo in my opinion, also plays very well too.

Well I loved the first one so the chances are 'yes'.

Sounds good, I saw you on Reach earlier. :P

YOU'RE STILL ALIVE?!?

In an extended ending, you here Serina say "Captin, wake up. Something has happend." So maybe there will be a sequel. I'd like to see it made.

the comeback kid

yeah, they haven't finished that story yet, and preferably it comes out this year(everyone is hoping right?)

Halo Wars 2 would be one of the very few games I would be willing to pay top dollar for.

If these guys don't make a Halo Wars 2 i'll bin my 360 and never bother with Microsoft again! Halo Wars was amazing, some of the 3v3 battles were immense lasting well over an hour and a RTS is a refreshing change in today's FPS obsessed world (after playing Halo 2 and 3 for many years Halo Wars is what kept me on the Halo scene). Great graphics and the best controls i've ever seen on a RTS really simple and let you concentrate on the strategy, they would be fools to themselves not to make another one.

Would HW2 be for PC? No? Then I'm not buying it.

  • 02.17.2011 11:52 AM PDT

yea and as for as the storyline goes it should be about what happened to them. maybe from the future and someone is explaining what happened based on evidence found or a survivor they found. kind of like flashbacks. between missions it would go back to the person talking. just from the moments of the person talking there could be its own hidden story. like if they decide to make the time of when their talking be post war there could be hints at the relations between species and whats going on. maybe

Definitely, the games Alex, you and I had were amazing, Paranoia. We somehow managed to kick absolute arse despite the fact that most of the time we were focusing more on conversation than the actual game.

I loved Halo Wars to bits.

Please, no hurt! Me like Elites. Brutes stinky bad bad. Me stay here, make sure no Brutes come behind mighty Arbiter. Heh, heh... Eh?

This Soffish do not eat.

I perhaps would - although I would love it to be more like the original version of it was supposed to be, where the base was much more open, and you could actually choose where the buildings were situated with much more freedom - and things like seeing marines doing pushups were all looking great until they were cut (I believe due to time restraints, but I may be wrong).

With more features like that and more freedom to build I probably would get it.

  • 02.17.2011 3:22 PM PDT

Yea, most likely. I enjoyed the first one, regardless of the fact that it kinda deviated away from cannon.
