Small problem. While trying to access your forums to participate, I get an error saying im not allowed. This is despite being logged into my .net passport, and says that I should report it to bn.net?

I can get to your fan fic index, I cannot add any either, so there is a significant problem there. Any possible solutions? This is the exact error:

"Database Error

We were not able to complete this operation due to a database failure. The failure has been logged. We suggest trying again after waiting a few minutes, database problems are usually repaired quickly.

If you believe you have received this message in error, or that this message is indicative of a more serious problem, please report this issue to bnetbugs@microsoft.com. Include the day and time (include your timezone), your Bungie.net user name, what you were doing at the time, and what you expected to happen instead of this error message. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope to have your issue resolved as soon as possible."

Any help would be deeply appreciated :)

Oh, and on the character limit; tis a bit disturbing to be so low.

Most of my fan-fics run well into several pages - and the only one that I can submit is over double the limit, sadly. My primary one (which hasnt crossed with Halo yet) is at 140 pages atm, so that's definately out as well :/

well, the website is, at the moment, blocked to most users because we don't want people posting on those threads...but that is only for the contest threads. if you go to the bottom of that page, you can post there if your a member.

btw, the 200 word one is short, but its meant to find people who can write alot with only a few words. that is probably the most difficult one to write, and the judges like it the most because it takes the least time to read. if we had to read your 140 page thing, then there would be a big problem timewise.

I posted my story in the "Medium Stories" section. I hope this story is legit.

(I think I may have posted it in the wrong spot. If so I apologize.)

Hmmm...I have a couple of questions.

1: Can we use a fanfic that we've already written?

2: Does "Bungie based" include stories about the forums?

I kind of want to submit this short couple of chapters but I'm not sure if I can yet.

Gracias.

Yes. As long as it's something you wrote.

I believe so.

Thx for the attempt kilroy. i know you're not completely sure about the rules, so i'll give a definite answer.

1) yes, you can use a fanfic you've written before. there isn't any way for us to tell whether you've written it before, so you shouldn't worry about that. however, if we've already read it, you might lose points for originality, because even though its your story and not someone elses, its been floating around for awhile. but each story is different, and we'll let you know beforehand. chances are no points will be taken off for it unless every single judge has read it already, which is doubtful.

2) yes, bungie based fanfics about the forums are allowable.
