Who Here Agrees, that when a game is made, the music in it is better then anything that any of the current Rock bands or Dj's could make. I'm not just talking about the music in modern games, i'm dating back to the early ninties and 80's (i think.) Games like Mario and sonic had cheesy 2D gameplay Backed up with some of the coolest sound tracks ever.
If i had to choose my favourite game music it'd have to be Final fantasy 7, some of the tracks in that were so emotional and worked well with the story. In second would be sonic 3, i just love the boss music, and in third would probablly be Halo or somthing.
And for all you people that think that the music aint important, when Squaresoft made X-2 they didn't use Nobuo Uematsu for the music ( he did all the others Including seven) and the game sucked. Coincidence? I think not, the game had a terrible story and was just squares attempt to squeeze all the cash out of a story but because the music sucked, there was nuthin that people could like about the game.
Game music has an effect on people, Incubus play the Mario tune when ever they are doing a live show and have you seen the movies on ebaums world? Mario piano and Mario Guitar, they're sweet. And now comes the bit where you join in, what is ur favoourite game music, and has it had any effect on you.
