No, I'm not perfect, but I have the feeling you're the kind of person who is used to meeting imperfect people on the internet.

Still stands out as the most moving of all the Halo deaths (to me).

How about you?

Same with me as to Carter's death. Even though I knew it before I started playing, his was the one that got me thinking "Holy crap, everyone's going to die. They're going to sacrifice themselves to give everyone else a chance to live". It was also the one that got me thinking about how 6 was actually going to die, like whether or not it would be in a cutscene, or we would be playing him in a scripted death, kinda like what happened at the end of MW2, had the CPT not stepped in of course. What we got was kinda a mixture, but it was still cool. While ultimately 6 didn't actually sacrifice himself for the sake of the mission like everyone else did (he was just overwhelmed by the covenant after he couldn't get evac'd after delivering Cortana), it was still pretty powerful. And the coolest thing is that ultimately, we never actually saw him die, we just assume he did, kinda lending itself back to the whole "spartans never die" thing.

You noob go frag yourself

What about Sgt. Johnson?

  • 01.21.2011 7:02 AM PDT

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Ehhh...Keyes death didn't do much for me. Sgt. Johnson's death was just like...WTF?! How can he die like that? He's the most badass character and he dies from one little laser beam from a stupid little floating ball?!?!?! Come on, Bungie! Emile's death was pretty badass. Kat's was pretty emotional too. Ehhh...but idk. None of them were really...OMG. Also, I don't know why everybody says Jorge's death. I didn't feel anything at all. I just liked the flight down to the ground. It looked fun. :D

Sgt.Johnson's death is the only one that brings a teir to my eye.

Its so fu(l<ing sad

"Don't ever let her go!"

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

I was actually really happy when she died, seeing as how she was the worst character in Halo. I thought, "You dumb -blam!-, you should've pulled the trigger. Oh well, thank god she's dead now. No more atrocious lines from her."

Johnson's death was ruined by his cliche "send me out with a bang" line. None of Noble team's deaths were any good (except maybe Jorge), since none of the characters were very fleshed out.

Captain Keys' death and Foehammer's deaths were pretty emotionally moving for me. Keys was just so awesome, and I felt really sad when he'd say stuff like "Chief, leave me." When Foehammer died, I was sad, then got really pissed at the Covenant because she was so awesome, and she had always been there. Whenever you needed a ride, call up the reliable Foehammer and she'd get you out of anything. Not so on her last pick up. :'(

The Nobel Team deaths were... Nobel.

I think what puts Miranda's up there for me is getting to know her over the course of two games, and that I already killed her father to help stop the flood.

I already assumed that she would live past the end since her father had already died in the war.

I was wrong, and it was shocking to me.

Johnson's death was good, maybe a little cliched but that's Johnson! His entire character is a cliche, that's what makes him so awesome!

I want to stress.. The Nobel Team deaths were good. Jorge made me tear up a little, Kat's made my jaw hit the floor.

But I connected to the other characters over 3-4 games and 7 some odd years. Had I that kind of connection to Nobel team I'm sure I would have taken their deaths just as hard..

If not harder.

Johnson for me.

"Were it so easy..." -Thel Vadame.

Even though I'm not a total fan of him, I always thought Johnson's death was great. The final showdown in the classic control room. Johnson had been there since day 1 and followed the Chief to the end. I just really liked it.

Captain Keys' death

His death was one of the only ones that gets me, Miranda's was pretty bad, and she was a terrible character. She died in the cliche moment of indecision in some heroic self sacrificing action.

Honestly it seems like the quality of the games' plots went way downhill after Halo 2.

Captain Keyes Death: Ehh I was kinda too young to get it at the time.
Miranda: I hated her she felt like she was trying to be the new Cortana >:(
Johnson:I was confused. I can beat him 40000 times slash him with a sword blow him to pieces shoot his brains out and he won't die then sparks like one hit kill.
Jorge: While he was a cool character none of nobles deaths really bug me I didn't even have 1 whole game to get attached to the character Jorge had the lease time of all.
Kat: Soooo many questions why weren't her shields up, why were the enemies staring into a hole in the ground and why was an elite using a needle rifle only specialists use those?
Carter: Since he seems to have lost the banshees why not just pick us up on the other side of the rock that the scarab isn't covering? and we just got past like 3 I think we could've mananged one more.
Emile: Most legit death great way to go no complaints.
Noble six: Love/Hate this death awesome cut scene with him killing elites but feel like he was just sort of killed for pointlessly.(Yes I know he was like staying with his squad and fighting til the last breath but still.)
Jun:Not dead as far as I know...yet.

Kat's death was the saddest, Nobles 6's death was the most epic.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Kat´s death was by far the best and most emotional.

Mirandas death was useless and dumb imo. It looked like Bungie just tried to kill her off in a rush.

Yea. Same here. I loved that cutscene, made it feel like know matter how hard you try you will lose.

Also, if Grave's tentacles could reach that far from high charity, why didn't we have an epic boss fight? Instead, he pulls down his tentacles of power and says, "Hey elite flood why don't you guys mind killing the two most dangerous people in the world instead of my 100 ft. long 15 ft. wide tentacles!"

Captain Keyes's tragic death was the best without question, at least for me. Or the "worst", depending on how you look at it.
