My friend amnd I ad an argument ealier. Who saved Humanity more? Master Chief, or the Spartan III's from Beta Comapny? You see, the Beta Company Spartan III's were sent on a mission to destroy a Covenant refinery on Pegasi Delta. If the UNSC did not tkae out this refinery, the Covenant would have a refueling site right next to UNSC space. It was vital to the war effort if they could destroy it. Long story short, the Spartan III's destroyed the refinery and blew up 7 cruisers, along with thousands of troops. This is what I said.
He said the Master Chief saved Humanity multiple times, by blowin up the Halos before they could fire. I agree. What I was saying was that if the Spartan III's could not have destroyed the refinery, the Covenant would have a forward base, resulting in a much quicker Covenant victory. They would have sent ships to refuel there, and strike much easier at Human held worlds. I was saying that Master Chief would not have gotten the chance to save humanity form the Halos, becuase everyone would have been dead for about 7 years. So. Who saved Humanity more?

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Chief's feat of destroying the Unyielding Heirophant equaled or possibly surpassed the destruction of the refinery in my opinion. ~300 covenant ships out of action, enough to rival a UNSC fleet 1000 strong. The refinery's destruction was a delay.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Although I admire Beta Company's efforts at Pegasi Delta (Especially Tom and Lucy), I think the Chief def. did a lot more to save humanity.

If Beta Company didn't take out that generator/supply station, we would have lost a few years of time....and, ultimately, lost the war earlier than we would have lost it.

Had John not blown up the first Halo, the Great Schism would never have happened. Which means that one of two events take place. The Great Schism happens, the Elites win or lose defending their homeworld, and the Loyalists take out Earth anyway (which we only held with the Elites help, and it would have fallen sooner than the Schism began due to the events of First Strike not happening).

Or the Great Schism never happens, and the Covenant entire arrives at Earth and wipes us out. Make no mistake, without the Schism we would have lost the war.

Beta Company bought humanity years, John bought them survival. It's hands down.

ahh, but wasnt the destruction of the Unyielding Heirophant also just a delay? it bought us what, a week? mabey 2?

Destroying the refinery was supposed to set the covenant back months.

But it pales in comparison to the Cheifs actions on Installation 04 and Delta Halo (cnt remember the number), earth, and Installation 00.

I applaude the actions of the Spartan III's, but as was said in th Museum of Humanity documentaries, "I dont think any of us would be here, if it wernt for the cheif."
